From Scone via McDuff's Monument. | Windy Corner | 29/12/2023 |
Parking at start of tk to Arnbathie. Over gate opposite and along BWF to field top L corner, awkward over BWF, then steep up through trees and over heather to intersect waymarker with red band and easy path to top. Not recommended. Try and find where the waymarked route starts from | Isbjorn | 25/09/2023 |
Another visit to this lovely Hill, using well signposted obvious tracks | Lynnebe | 30/08/2023 |
From Scone Old Church, up Den of Scone to McDuff's Monument & along to Murray shall Hill. NE descent, unpathed but OK to Easthill. Mainly tracks over Law Hill and on awkward core paths to Pole Hill - finding start near Shien Hill was worst & involved leaving good track at gate before track high point. Core path was an ankle turner. Last core path SE to Pole Hill was OK but fence to climb on awkward stile. Returned due W initially pathless but soon hit farm track. Didn't turn S to Goddens but continued NW through fueld, gates & gated forestry. Past ruin to same awkward gate on core path. Return by core paths mainly W through Wester Bonhard, Spoutwells & around Scone Wood. | Lynnebe | 01/03/2023 |
A pleasant circuit from Arnbathie, initially on a trod through shoulder high meadow grass, joining a manicured green track on the shoulder of Murrayshall Hill and following it over a stile to the MacDuff Monument, before taking the path through heather and over another stile to the summit obelisk. | Nick Down1 | 16/09/2022 |
Parked by driving range, along road eastwards then up path to top, return via monument. | Adrian | 13/06/2022 |
NY’s get together with A, A&F D, M&G S, Hugo, Bob, Ollie and Guiness | Daisley | 03/01/2022 |
parked on the bend at the bottom of the track through the golf course. Had a sit on Nick's bench, really nicely positioned for quiet contemplation, then on to the obelisk. Beautiful hill. 2km in 25 mins | Nicky C | 01/11/2021 |
2 of 3: After Mailer/Kirkton Hill we drove to the east of Scone and parked at the driving range. Sign directing walkers through a gate and up to McDuff's Folly. Then signs to the Lynedoch Obelisk. Returned the same way. With Karen. | ChrisR | 27/09/2021 |
Up from Arnbathie road-end via reasonable path to obelisk at top. | willyross | 18/04/2021 |
Arnbathie track end, cross road, to L of gate is a faint path which winds through long grass to the clearer path below summit. Follow that to the top. Macduff monument worth a detour too! | Belfarm | 24/07/2020 |

Boxing Day walk with the Hammos from Scone. | nix_snilloc | 26/12/2019 |
Parked at the end of the track to Arnbathie, then a path through the long grass and steeply up towards the summit though long grass and heather. Found a better initial track down, which comes in from the west, then back to the smaller paths to the road. Interesting obelisk. | LizH | 17/11/2019 |
From east, parked at the track to Arnbathie. Through gate, rough path upwards to the wood on left above the house. Then steep and a little heathery track to the Obelisk. Other better paths from west and north join at top. Good views down the Sidlaw Hills. | N.Morters | 13/11/2019 |
Circular walk from Scone. | Alan Bothwell | 02/08/2019 |
From Arnbathie farm junction. Feint path to Obelisk. Met a friendly local. | Play2End | 15/06/2019 |

Parked by gate op entrance to Arnbathie. A good little path through rough meadow and then weaves up through woodland to left and all the way to the top. So pleasantly easy. Raining though. With B and R. | jenx | 11/11/2018 |
