The signposted ('Girvan') path from Barr can be followed using the waymarked posts - really useful now as new deer fence gates lie on route to the summit. | 49pp | 02/02/2024 |
From Kirkland Hill, mostly not too bad going along the ridge, back down NE to ruin at Tam's Rest. | agentmancuso | 07/09/2019 |
Parked in Barr and followed the 'Girvan' signed path. The path was very muddy to start, and not an obvious path, but through grass and wild flowers as you go up, so quite pleasant. Best to stick to the waymarked route as the ground is boggy and rough elsewhere as we discovered by taking a 'shortcut' down. | LizH | 09/06/2019 |
Pleasant walk from Barr on a sunny morning | RobertP | 09/12/2018 |
9th hill of 13 today on 2 loops from Barr Village and this the start of the 2nd loop after having climbed Drumneilie, Cairn, Pinbreck, Craigenreoch, Changue, Haggis, Largs and Knockeen. I actually climbed over fence into woodland next to Albany farm estate to get to pasture then steady climb up on easy ground next to fence then over to trig and summit rock. Such a relief walking on easy ground compared to the 1st loop, this also being wind turbine terrain. I spotted footpath waymarkers en-route to trig. | Dazingdale | 12/05/2017 |
Waymarked path from the well kept village of Barr. | RichardM | 05/06/2016 |
