P just in Beech Drive, up track to derelict Lochrennie & over Ewe Hill & Wether Hill. On to Big Morton via Pointfoot Hill. | agentmancuso | 04/06/2021 |
Parked in entrance to forest (NX 6906 8397) - plan A was to drive the forest roads, but gate locked so plan B in action. Along the road and up onto Stroan Hill -> Divot Hill. Left forest road at NX 6903 8718, followed break to wall, turned right to edge of forest, then onto Wether Hill first (only 1m lowerr than Lawglass), then easy ground to Lawglass. Retraced my steps to forest road then onto Margree (trig pillar) -> Hog Hill -> Whitecairn Hill -> Knockman Hill for a 21km round. | jonglew | 28/02/2021 |
Parked a short distance up the track to Blackmark before walking up the track to Lochrennie. Fron here my route was over Ewe Hill and Wether Hill before arriving at the summit. Dropped down to Loch Knocksting for a look and then back by the same route. | 3 kinnears | 31/01/2021 |
From Big Morton Hill, following the edge of the forest. The ascent on rough boggy ground, with some relatively new tree planting was not a good route, using forest tracks to Knocksting Loch would probably have been preferable. Descended along the ridge line towards Lochrennie, and down onto the track beyond the (probably derelict) house. Descended to cross the river and return along the road to the car on the verge at the end of the track. | LizH | 12/08/2020 |
