Up and down from gate at lane junction, NX 9095 7688. very friendly farmer looked after my bike when herding cattle into the paddock.Eddie18/04/2023
From Terregles using core path until gate visible below fort then direct. Down to col, easily over wall then track to top of White Hill (start is hidden but at high point of main track). Then used core path back to the village.SS25/02/2023

From the junction to the NW. One fence to cross under.NormanW08/04/2022
Over gate from Y-junction into empty field. Crossed upper wall by a wooden fence in the corner by the forest wall. Through the bracken to the summit. Layout of the old fort is easily seen. Nice little hill. Solo.Dangerous Dave06/10/2021
See Morris Hill and White Hill of Terregles first, came off north to where a turning area has been created, and a quick hop over the wall to Beacon HillWayne Mac02/09/2021
A fine bright sunny morning a leisurely explore of here and See Morris Hill just before making tracks back to Dumfries and to start my journey home.Alex C05/08/2021

A few parking spaces at road junc (NX 9095 7690). Followed the wall up initially, then direct line to the top.jonglew20/01/2020
Parked at the road junction to the NW. Visited White Hill of Terregles first, then to Beacon Hill. Good views of very wet surrounding countryside.LizH12/01/2020
Straightforward walk from the field gate besides the road junction to the NW.summitter04/09/2019
Parked at the road junction to the NW and followed a forestry track that is unmapped. This brought us to a track that is on the map and we followed tracks to the summit. We continued to Beacon Hill, following a track towards the col and easily ascending the wall, before a short walk to the summit. We descended straight to the car, via fields. With JT.Sprog05/01/2019
Solo. Parked at start of access track to mast at NX915776. After ascending See Morris Hill. Went up along forest tracks to summit of White Hill of Terregles. The highest point is on the east side of a track and has a minute cairn of three small stones. Continued southwards on a track and through a gap in the trees to the wall at the boundary of the forest. The wall is easily climbed, then on rough pasture to summit of Beacon Hill. Descended by going down the pasture to the road.pwbellarby12/11/2017
P junct to NW, on to N top.agentmancuso28/05/2017
Parked on grassy island at road junction to NW then fields to summit. Tops of trees on White Hill of Terregles to N significantly higher by Abney - nice forest track from just beyond col to its summit.RichardM10/02/2017
Parked at road Junction to north west then ascended easily over pasture to obvious low rock outcrop at summit. Some evidence of ancient fortifications. Nice views . We looked north to the forest where the OS spot height point 211m looked of similar height. We descended to the col then followed forest tracks marked on 1:25 map to this high point, which our GPS said was similar ie within accuracy error. As there is no line of sight within the conifer forest an Abney level cannot be used.Denise 10/02/2017
Parked at the farm, explaining 'I am climbing Beacon Hill' Look of puzzlement - I guess it must have a local name (or none at all). Views from the top confirm why this gets the name 'Beacon' Saw my first Easter bunny - with a white stripe along its back - all the way from its neck to its tail. There are only two Scottish beacon hills, named as such, in the 'bagging' list - and just 10 miles or so apart. Border country.M3WDD25/03/2016
