Another trip organised by Alan Holmes. Thanks again Alan. On Braveheart skippered by Dougie Ferguson and expertly guided by his crewmate Jenny. As well as escorting us all to the summit she took us to the light house, the castle and the FOGHORN. Very calm crossing and quite warm for the time of year, as always at least ankle deep in guano but thankfully no birds.mntainman14/11/2021
From North Berwick on 'Braveheart'. Up concrete paths to their highest point then across rocks and guano to the summitkdbennett14/11/2021

From the Braveheart based in North Berwick. 5 of us travelled across. Great couple of hours on the rock. Gannets had left the island for the winterfergie02/11/2021
I was on the first of two trips out to the island today on the Braveheart, skippered by Dougie Ferguson. Trip organised by Alan Holmes. Travelled with Dorothy Stirling and four Lighthouse Baggers who made the trip very interesting and fun. A fabulous few hours. Wear boots or wellies to get through the deep guano!Dangerous Dave02/11/2021

What a great way to spend a couple of hours! Much more than just another tick. Thanks to Alan.Tony S19/01/2019
Successful landing and summit this time, with others via MV Braveheart from North Berwick.Topographer5720/12/2018
Great 2 hour boat trip organised by Alan Holmes on MV Braveheart from North Berwick. Awkward swell led to challenging landing and reboarding. Island is a gannet graveyard and fantastic viewpoint.Thearlaichdubh20/12/2018
The East Lothian island gem. Well worth the wait (several stand downs this year). Quite a tricky (adrenalin inducing) landing, as swell was greater than expected - excellent handling of boat ('Braveheart') by skipper. Thanks Alan for making visit possible. Super island - engineered concrete path almost all the way to summit.ger20/12/2018
At long last! 09:00am departure from North Berwick aboard MV Braveheart. Skipper and mate to be commended for enabling landing and re-boarding in swell that contrasted with mainland calm conditions.summitsup20/12/2018

Boat trip from North Berwick.jonglew19/12/2017
Long journey from Melvich and back for this one in a day. Well worth the effort for this prized guano covered HuMP - thanks Alan Holmes for organising the boat and the weather. Interesting fact - 80% of those passengers on our boat had climbed the St Kilda stacks.assynt_bob19/12/2017
Small cairn on top on western side of summit plateau. Guano not as bad as feared. Concrete path from jetty, through gate ( lock opened by boatman) and via lighthouse. Path goes to foghorn on other side of island. Landing on island from 'Braveheart' straightforward in conditions present. 20 min trip from North Berwick harbour. Thanks to Alan for arranging.Denise 19/12/2017
At long, long last but well worth the wait. A sense of history and absolute isolation about this stark rock. Many thanks to Alan Holmes for his perseverance in making this trip finally happen.Campbell Singer19/12/2017
Sunny morning for a trip on the Braveheart from North Berwick to the Bass Rock to bag the summit, foghorn and lighthouse..Dugswell219/12/2017
Ten hours train journey. Well worth it.Martin R19/12/2017
On the first of two boats today, organised by Alan Holmes. Weather perfect, mild and little swell. We even enjoyed champagne at the summit !NormanW19/12/2017
A great little trip.jenx19/12/2017
Never thought we would ever get there. Great trip. Only 3 Humps more in Great Britain left. Old Man of Hoy and the two Mingulay stacks. GPS reference for BR is NT 60252 87433 but you really can't miss it. Nowhere else to go.Alan Whatley19/12/2017
With Bryher and Jen and other baggers from North Berwick. 8/10 of our boat been up the Kildan stacs, this was like a miniature version. Some swell, interesting landing, guano everywhere, even a few dead gugha. Good viewpoint. Thanks Alan Hnordicstar19/12/2017
Great to step on this great barren rock. Guano covered steps from the landing lead through the gated castle entrance and most the way to the summit. Feels a lot more remote than it is. Many thanks to Alan for arranging the trip.RichardM19/12/2017
