From B954 parking area by spur of forest opposite Craiglea. I mad the mistake of following tracks on the right-hand side of the deer fence rather than crossing the stile. Finding my way to the summit proper barred by this fence, I had to back track half way to the fence corner where wooden supports make it more easily climbable, weaving through a tongue of gorse before reaching the cairn and summit at last. | Nick Down1 | 31/03/2024 |
Parked at start of track Holm of Needs. Straightforward along the track to highest point where you will see an ATV track heading up to summit. No fences to climb
 VEry pleasant hill for Hogmanay. | Crumblie2 | 31/12/2023 |
Parked SSE by old forest track entrance. Goes through forest then a deer field to cross before heading up past young considers to the summit. Note you’ll have to cross a deer fence at some point either via a gate or where padlocked then climbing the wodden slats. | Adrian | 09/06/2022 |
A useful parking area due east on the B954 is a helpful start. simply a matter of jumping the fence and heading up the eastern flank. | summitter | 12/06/2021 |
Parked at approx 251567. Over stile to SE side deer fence and up beside it to top. No fence to cross at top as not much left of the one between the cairn and summit. | duchally | 20/05/2021 |
Weather fair. | MountainMac | 16/03/2021 |
From SSE limited parking at GR252554 at access track/road. Followed tarmac road through wood just south of reservoir. Then track through the deer farm, summit cairn is visible but best to use track beyond farm deer complex buildings the up grassy AVT track to summit (100m beyond wall corner/old pine forest), earlier track near wall goes to Quarry which I used upwards but it runs out in new plantation trees. 3/3 HuMP | N.Morters | 07/10/2020 |
Good parking at bottom of fence line to the east. Easy going up north of fence but then have to climb over it at the top. | daviemore | 04/09/2020 |
from the east, along side of new deer fence and crossed over it at the top. | robertphillips | 06/01/2020 |

Approached from the north, where here is a parking space at the start of the track. Left the track and ascended to the summit after going through a gate. This avoided crossing any fences. | JohnW | 14/06/2016 |
Up from road 50m up from edge of wood 200m S of Nether Scithie Fm NO252566. Easy grass and heather. | Eddie | 03/11/2014 |
From track to north where there is space to park 1 car opposite. | PeteF | 24/06/2011 |
Parked near NO251568 (room for several cars off-road). Convenient plastic bag covering barbed wire fence, leading to a faint path past a lonesome pine. Don't go through the obvious gap in the next fence! Keep Left, following a pair of tracks. | richtea5040 | 04/10/2010 |
