Just under 14 miles out and back from Sugar Bowl car park, the usual route through Chalamain Gap and up ridge onto summit, great views from the summit stretching from Lochnagar and the southern Cairngorms all the way to Morven in Sutherland, descended over Sron na Lairige summit and Creag a' Chalamain summit avoiding coming through the gap again. Sunny/high cloud all day, windy on ridge but not on summit of Braeriach, saw about 10 people, a great mountain for my 1000th hill on this website and 13th Munro.DanTrig19/06/2019

From the Sugar Bowl car park climbed Braeriach over Stob na Laurige. I was convinced by a teacher I met part way that I should do the other Munros. So I went on to Carn na Criche, The Angels Peak, Cairn Toul, Stob Coire an t Saighdeir and The Devils Point. I then went down to Corrour and the long walk North on the Lairig Ghru and back through the Chalamain Gap. The weather was warm and sunny with cloud free skies I got burnt. Wildlife included Snow Bunting, Grey Wagtail, Red Grouse, Ptarmigan a Lizard near Corrour and a Roe Deer near the Wells of Dee. Walk distance about 23 miles in 11 hours 30 minutes. Tiring but great day. The plateaux is very special in the UK hills.isabelle31/05/2017

Braeriach and Sron na Lairige, a long walk in the clouds.rhalstead27/06/2013
Walked in Thurs 20th from Gen Feshie to camp on Tom Dubh. Wake on solstice to total silence, wind free. First sound is a bird song, then tumbling water as I cross first stream up to Cairn Toul. Wisps of cloud hang like a jellyfish with numerous tendrils hanging down, above Beinn Bhrotain to the south. CT for the third time SaLU for the second time and as I head for the Braeriach plateau, frustratingly a bank of cloud rolls over. Meet Canadian guy, Mark in the clagg, we wander the plateau a little disorientated towards eastern cliffs. Quite a bit of confusion and uncertainty, eventually get there, mist is thinning. As we part, I head further NE towards my northern Murdo. Hot and clear by this time. On way back I contour round the western edge of the plateau look down into Loch Coire an Lochain and across tops to Carn na Criche.vegibagger21/06/2013

Walked from Cairngorm withGraeme and Adam in a whiteout! After bagging Cairn Gorm and Ben Macdui our party of six had to descend to the Corrur Bothy in sleet and heavy rain before climbing up the other side of the Lairig Ghru towards Cairn Toul. As conditions were getting worse Graeme (a trained mountain leader decided we should avoid the ridge). I agreed but some didn't, so the party split and three of us approached this summit from a safer route.flockwatcher29/05/2005

Over all the tops in Munros tables from Devils Point to Braeriach. A start from Corrour bothy meant we could savour this walk over about 10 hours, lots of time for contemplation of one of the best mountain walks in GB. A marvellous finish on this summit with the excellent Dukes Path down to just below the Lairig Ghru. We had failed to get on Braeriach from Loch Einich a few years earlier so getting here today was all the more satisfying. Fabulous clear weather just starting to turn- it rained heavily the last hour back to the bothy, by when we were back in the valley. With brother, Petepwheeler17/06/1997

Saturday, with dad. I'm 13, finally getting up Ben Macdui. ran out of time 2 years ago on Carn a'Mhaim, my first Marilyn 3rd Munro. Dropped Linn of Dee by mum, staying in our caravan south of Braemar. Up SE ridge, cloud, plenty of lying snow, into the Larig Ghru up into the cloud again on Braeriach. Dads one inch map doesn't have west of the plateau beyond easting 95. Its a bit of a lottery navigating, he's unsure if valley top is actually Glen Guesachan. Heading SW fortunately bends S, SE and E as we come out of the cloud. However, a long way back and I've no idea what his intentions had actually been to get back to Braemar. I expect he'd planned to hitch but it's dark before the Lin of Dee. He hopes that Inverey YH is open but it's not, because at that time it was only short summer opening. Door knocking at 11pm finds warden who lets us stay. What's mum feeling at her non returned son and hubby?vegibagger04/06/1966
