Circuit from Inverlochlarig. Ascent via Allt a' Choire Bhain, then along ridge to An Stuchd, returning down Glen Sgionie. | vuirich | 26/07/2023 |

From Inverlochlarig. The north face looked very steep on a day of light rain, so took the forest track west round the hill. It seemed to take ages to get to the fire break so there was much map checking, but it was obvious enough once reached and presented a view to the open ground high above. Quite steep but no problems. The light rain stopped so was confident enough to continue north over the summit. From the 600m contour went north west to find the steep gully heading NNE at the 470m contour. Again steep but no difficulty. This led to a deer fence with a convenient break a few metres to the left of my line, then easily down to the forest track. Along the track for a little way then found an easy line down through the plantation to the next zig zag in the track down. Then easily back on the tracks. | Owen B | 27/04/2023 |
Route up as Bolton, Gill, etc. Maybe it was easier in winter with short grass, but the route was fine. No crags involved, despite the upward view, and the steepest grass is lower down by the burn. I was going to save this hill for my last Graham, see Tales from the Grahams, by Alan Dawson, but it seemed daft not to climb it whilst Simm bagging in the area. | Minto | 28/02/2023 |

Over from Beinn Stacach. Steep up from the low point. | davechaffey | 29/11/2022 |
Parked at 445186. Followed the track along the west side to the break at 439158. Directly up this to the Sub Simm and then north. Headed south to complete the other 3 tops with D.Dave and Anne B. | bolton | 16/11/2022 |
Route as described by MichaelF. With Anne, Ralph & Phil. | Dangerous Dave | 16/11/2022 |
From Inverlochlarig, over bridge, up zig zag forest track to c.NN 439 158, up firebreak to waterfall and then N over various knolls to summit. Back same way. | MichaelF | 24/10/2022 |
DRC walk from Inverlochlarig. Forest track through Glen Sgionie, steeply up following burn and deer fence to An Stuchd, along the ridge to 500m beyond Stob Breac, steeply down eastwards, followed burn through gap in trees and onto another track back to Inverlochlarig. | TRG318 | 23/10/2022 |
From Inverlochlarig as ever. The zig-zag track is quite eroded but I bet it's replaced with a logging road quite soon. I took the fork to the W side of the hill then up the obvious firebreak at 439158 staying on the N side of the burn; it's just past a stone enclosure in the trees. Drier and firmer than most firebreaks even after heavy rain, steep by a small waterfall and then longer steep exit to the open hill. Easy thereafter to a big area of peat, easy slopes to the summit beyond. On the way back, I crossed to the S of the burn above the waterfall and found a deer superhighway through old trees to a mossy fire break, N on this to rejoin the burn near the track. This will be my last ever firebreak. Thank goodness. | Gill | 10/10/2022 |
Parked in the car park and followed the farm road through Inverlochlarig and on to the splendid new footbridge. Then followed the SMC route up the desperately steep ascent of the Stob a' Choin. Then along the ridge visiting Meall Reamhow North Top, Meall Reamhow, and Creag na h-lolaire; before a tricky steep descent to Creag Chaorannach, and on to the pleasant little bump Cnoc na Nathrach. Then S to N along the Stob Breac ridge, where the going is much easier. Visited outlier Beinn Mheadonach, An Stuchd, Sob Breac Far South Top, Stob Breac South Top, and finally Stob Breac. I did not fancy a lengthy steep descent after so many steep sections already. So, I backtracked to the col before the south top, turned west, taking a gently graded grassy rake with a stream much the way to the top of the forest. I then went down the gap followed by the stream with a dog leg to the grassy forest road. Much of the route was slow going, so a 9 hour trek trek covering 20km with 1400m of ascent. | silveracorn_alan | 25/08/2022 |
approach tracks very grassy and wet; I didn't fancy the recommended route by the Allt a' Choire Bhan as this looked very tussocky and steep, so I carried on for another mile on the track to its highest point and followed another stream up to the open from where the summit was gained after a little wander. To descend, I followed a gully and stream which went through the forest to the track on the west side, a much pleasanter track. | IanHHill | 18/08/2022 |
From Inverlochlarig, up forest track around east side and up the fire break with the burn. It was wet and slippy underfoot so when I reached the narrow section beside waterfall I plunged into the trees on the right to reach a small clearing, thought this might be another fire break that would get me to top of forest but it didn't last and was forced to push back though the trees again to get back to the main firebreak above the waterfall. Eventully came out onto opn hillside and it was a pretty unrelenting climb to the top.
Decided to head south from top to head for An Stuchd. | Jossker | 06/08/2022 |

Followed SMC route with return over An Stuchd. Once on forest track on return route, had to negotiate a fallen tree by crossing burn and then back. Followed by flocks of flies most of the way up and back! | PaulineD | 24/06/2022 |

After bagging the Corbett, ascended the south ridge then decended Allt a choire Bhain, which is a wide fire break. Rough with a bad section of a waterfall. Crossed burn to avoid it. | Jhimmy | 23/04/2022 |

MMC walk by 5 men and a dog from Inverlochlarig following zigzags and track to the western valley, then to the end of the valley and a fenceline to the south end of long undulating ridge. Great views all along this ridge. Descended steeply down Allt an coire Bhan. A lovely day. 13k, 600m, 5 hours. | alexmaclennan | 12/02/2022 |

Track with zigzags from Inverlochlarig, then via wide gap in trees on north steep side of hill. Fairly easy to avoid minor crags. Back by same route. Red stalking flag hoisted in glen but Stob Breac run by forestry company with only occasional stalking, according to local advice. | willyross | 06/10/2021 |
