Started at Machynllyth, along Glyndwr's Way then minor road until E of Mynydd Garth-Gwynion. Up a forestry track until NE of summit then brackeny grazed fields to the top. Easy descent to a gate SE of Mynydd Cae-du then through sheep pasture to its top. A series of lovely ROWs to the houses at Garthgwynion and Glaspwll and on to a path/track northwards to Glanmerin. Slight detour to bag Pen Glanmerin then back on tracks and road back to Machynllyth. | summitter | 30/08/2023 |
HP is just east of field fence within open, sloping woodland. A sudden cold hailstorm moved us onwards. After Mynydd Cae-du. | Denise | 18/01/2023 |
From the SW up rough pasture without difficulties. High point a grassy rise on forest side of the fence. Nasty wind driven hail, cold. 228m spot height to N is lower. | RichardM | 18/01/2023 |
As MoK. Parked opposite entrance to cottage at SN 7357 9871 & up road for about 300m to start of forest track - Up track, taking a right & then a left to gate at SN 7324 9833 - Alongside edge of wood to high point next to fence. (S) | gerrybowes | 20/12/2021 |
Arrived in Machynlleth with time to spare, so did a very pleasant circuit of Mynydd Cae-du, Mynydd Garth-Gwynion, Pen Glanmerin and Parc. | PGCE | 26/09/2020 |
Used the coast path track as a starting point. Easily zig-zagged up to gate onto open ground and over stile, along forest edge to top. With B and R. | jenx | 12/03/2020 |
As Man of Kernow 1 then across to Mynydd Caedu. Grumpy farmer's wife moaned at me and grumbled but ended up giving me directions. | clivevilla | 11/03/2020 |
Followed marktrengrove route. Lovely spot and great views down to sea at Borth. | Mark Sims | 21/03/2019 |
Nothing to add to marktrengrove's excellent route description which we followed, except how much we enjoyed the view. With brother, Pete | pwheeler | 18/09/2018 |

Thanks Mark for detailed info, especially where to park. | arranc | 04/08/2014 |
Lovely morning circular from Mach also including Mynydd Cae-du Tump. Sunshine and some heavy showers but still well worth it. | Alex C | 09/11/2013 |
Parked by house at Garth-owen at SN 73572 98709. Walked to start of track at SN 73421 98464. Then took woodland track steeply up to junction at SN 73259 98272. Turned right up to another track junction at SN 73263 98360. Turning left I shortly reached an unlocked gate into sheep pasture. Following the fence a little way west I cam to a stile over barbed wire fence. Followed edge of the wood up to highest point. Agree edge of wood is higher than Pt. 228m marked on 1:25k map. | Man of Kernow1 | 12/05/2013 |
803. Walked up road 250 metres before realising forgot the camera. That is almost further than it would have been if there was a direct route from parking spot to the top. Agree the top is by fence - not the spot height. | Martin R | 29/08/2011 |
quick up and down from the the road.High point on fenceline. | DARRENG | 14/06/2011 |
Parked to SE. Followed forestry road to gate at 73241 98338 gives access to open land. | destaylor | 17/03/2011 |
From Dovey Junction Station via SN 732 979. Point next to fence looks higher than the OS spot height. | summitsup | 07/03/2010 |
