Logged Descriptions  (logged by 33 users)ByDate of Ascent
From locked gate at 582376. We found this walk less straightforward than others and the map needed care to follow. It looked like there are new ATB routes marked ‘no pedestrians’ but we followed one (no. 3) from about 572375 to get onto a higher track at 571372. Above this, the bridleway no longer crosses the forest road, coming up below the point, correctly shown on the map, where it is well-marked and made on the wooded summit ridge. There seem to be several candidate HPs to us but it was always easy to wander off into the mature plantation here. We returned via the ride from 572373- essentially now a very pleasant path- we intended for ascent- down to 577375 where it, too, was marked ‘no pedestrians’.pwheeler18/09/2023
Drove up forest track & parked by junction & locked barrier at SN 5829 3768 - Up forest tracks, E. along waymarked bridleway & then easily between thinned mature trees to the summit GR. Following Storm Arwen, some windthrow across higher tracks. (S)gerrybowes01/12/2021

Parked at forest car park and went up forest tracks (unlike some forests, these tracks are as they are shown on the map) then east on the red path. I walked over the high point of this path on both sides so that should cover it.clivevilla10/02/2016

I'd be fairly confident that the summit lies on the path or very close to it; couldn't find anything higher during a venture into the treesColin Crawford27/06/2015

From Rhydcymerau, muddy path initally due S then picked up good forest 'road' at SN 57642 38088. Summit to S of muddy track through conifer plantation. Plunged in but could not detrmine a high point. Carried on to break out of woodland for a fine hill top meadow which we crossed for the trig pillar.jonglew23/08/2014
Park at meeting of 4 roads. Steeply up on forest road to a gate and end of forest. Out on sheep pasture to trig 6378 at 325m, past slender mast to western corner of forest. Over BWF through old trees snapping branches to find a 90 degree bend in small wet path after 150m. GPS high point is 300m along this path. 13.00. No view - trees.arranc05/05/2014

Top and trig with Phil Cooper. Parked in Rhydcymerau to use bridleway from north to wiggle our way along the route to the flat track through the flat summit forest. Then via overgrown track gain access to sheep fields to bag trig at forest edge then walked down sheep field in a NNE direction to track to forest picnic spot and back onto road to finish this circular walk.Dugswell217/11/2012
Car park to NE. Followed track to the red path shown on map west end. Took path - takes to within 70m of summit. Then through trees - not dense. Better currently several bull dozed tracks from 53389 36898.destaylor24/05/2012
