9 mile run loop with Pauline from the Brecon Promenade car park .. along river to park then up the brilliant bridleway to Moel Fenni Fach .. the track up to Fenni Fach top was not as obvious as map suggests .. we found it hidden in undergrowth opposite the small gate on right just before gate across bridelway .. maybe not the best time of year to do this in shorts .. bit of a thrash and found a lucky way up last bit just after where the wall is shown on map .. back to bridleway same way then onto Y Gaer then tarmac through Cradoc before a right up Pen y Crug .. what a cracking hill with stunning views of central Beacons .. obligatory loop of the fort then back to Brecon | milejunkie | 04/09/2023 |

Walked up from holiday house in Brecon, although there is new parking on the edge of the housing estate where the fp leads off NW through the fields. Area around the well at the start all looks more recently landscaped. Blustery afternoon, forever threatening rain and very wet underfoot. With Gillian, Harriet and Mike. Onto Slwch Tump. | richard69 | 30/12/2022 |

Easy parking at the top of the housing estate near the sign for the Maen-du Well. Followed the path towards the well, then over various stiles and across the fields to the summit. Good view point. Visited the well on the way back, just off the main route to the hill. | LizH | 30/05/2022 |

Short hike from the town of Brecon to Pen y Crug and back. Total distance: 4.6 miles | manilena | 05/03/2022 |
Easy roadside parking on Maes-y-ffynnon at top of estate at SO 0419 2946 - Up bridleway to waymarker post at 031303 & then W. over short grass to the largely encased trig point & summit. (S) | gerrybowes | 10/11/2021 |
Parked at edge of housing estate to south east of the hill. Foot path signed from here easy to follow. Head for the gate to next field and so on. The Maen-du well is in the wood just off to the right of the path and worth a visit. Well built stone hut over the well reminded me of Irish bee hive huts. The hill fort is in very good condition and offers a commanding panoramic view. A fine spot for admiring Pen-y-Fan and it’s neighbours. The path to the hill fort is aligned well with the cathedral which suggests it may be a memory of an ancient procession route or a coffin line. | Pete West | 23/06/2019 |
Ascended along the bridleway from the B4520. Parking possible in the housing estate on E side of the road. | DanMaisieBex | 13/01/2019 |

From the large car park at SO 25753 30992, up the bridleway to SO 03025 30537 where a track led over the rampart to the summit area. I visited SO 002905 30397 which shows as the high point on Memory Map then to the trig. Stupendous views of the Brecon Beacons. | Jim.Fothergill | 24/09/2018 |
