3/6 A Circuit of Blackburn Hills Mellor Moor, Stanley Hill, Billinge Hill with the Wainwright Memorial Stone too, Revidge, the via the Blackburn Cemetry up to Height House and Wilpshire Moor. A lovely day out organised by Chris Seddon for us.nickywood125/02/2024
Parked by a row of terraced houses at SD6582 2839. Back along the road to an entrance to the woodland walk, and followed tracks to the summit.LizH11/01/2024
Parked at 65693 28376 by some huge houses that are being built. Worked my way up.clivevilla09/01/2024
Parking south of the hill on Under Billenge Road. Various routes through the woods to the summit and back.summitter01/12/2023
Parked at row of houses at 658283, complying with signs requesting no parking. 653283 would have been better as we had to walk E on road for 300 m. to access the paths on the woodland hill. ATB tracks took us directly to the HP then we took the wide path shown on the Explorer map to return. With Petepwheeler20/03/2023
Walked up the road from Mill Hill station, then a pleasant walk through the woods to hit the top. Retreated to the Spoons in Blackburn for lunch, then to Preston for a Tottenham away win double.Richard28/01/2023
From Road to north parking near never housing. Path up through woods pleasant short climb. Onto Darwen.N.Morters25/12/2022
Lots of parking at grid ref 657279. Nice paths through rhododendrons and woods.Mark Jackson22/12/2022
Parked in the main car park in the popular Witton Country Park. A nice circular walk up through the wooded park, then following the permissive bridleways (thankfully no mountain bikes) to the stone plinth at the summit. Sadly very limited view from the summit. 5km with 160m taking 1h 20m.silveracorn_alan03/12/2022
A little excursion on my birthday to bag some nice local hills: Mellor Moor, Stanley Hill, Billinge Hill and Revidge. Some nice dramatic views on a sunny autumn afternoon.Lazylizzie19/11/2022
Something to do when stuck clicking your heels in Preston. Up and down in sandals.Eddie06/10/2022

from bus stop on A674 at Feniscliffe, over R Darwen and along thr thin wiggly wood to the ridge, then along BP and FP to top.IanHHill24/11/2021
Limited parking at SD6359028295. SW/S up the dirt lane, then a myriad of paths follow – picked any which ascended until no more height to gain. Concrete dais at summit, view mostly obliterated by trees.Isbjorn20/09/2021
From Parking Area S of summit on Under Billenge Road. Followed forest tracks to the summit. Intended on visiting the Wainwright memorial but torrential rain put a stop to that and returned to the car insteadJephcote8319/08/2021
Parked by ROW to S. Into wood, then left for a few 100m before right on zigzag path to top. Disappointing views.PGCE19/02/2021
3rd visit with lovely snowy conditionsAlan Caine23/01/2021
7km circular run. The summit is in the woods so views aren't great, however, the ridge to the west was a highlight with great views. You would hardly think Blackburn town centre was so close.sturuss06/01/2021
Second Hump of this morning after Longridge Fell and Yellow Hill surface block.Dugswell201/12/2020
Walked up from the main car park at Witton CPWayne Mac04/09/2020
2nd visit. Daily exercise adhering to the Government's Covid 19 guidelines.Alan Caine22/04/2020
The area looks run down and has seen better days, I expect. Surprisingly difficult to park. A pleasant woodland walk with Alfie.Dangerous Dave03/02/2020
Circular walk from Witton Park.Arbie11/09/2019
No safe parking at P shown on 50k map to the east, and parking is very limited to the west but found one space from where followed paths through the wood. Saw just one dog trainer with 5 dogs.Topographer5703/09/2019
Parked on Under Billenge Lane and followed footpaths to summit.Ramblingpaul07/06/2019
Followed one of the many paths to the top from Under Billinge Lane.Andrew Pearson22/03/2019
Easy, dedicated parking area down Under Billinge Lane. Directly opposite the parking area a path starts, eventually finding it's way to the summit.moorsman09/03/2019

Another locked and gated car park in the Blackburn unitary area. Parked outside the gate - 653283. A 25 minute solo walk in pleasant wooded area.bolton29/03/2018
Parked at NW corner of the park (SD 6538 2828), gate was closed but room for a couple of cars. Easy stroll up through woodland on paths to concrete platform at top.jonglew25/02/2018
With J.B. From Witton Country Park car park. Wainwright Memorial then Billinge Hill.ADT08/02/2018
2nd hill of 7 today on a route from Blackburn to Rishton, climbing to Revidge Hill first then along Revidge road onto Billinge end road then on attractive footpath all the way to the top passing mature beech trees and snow-covered rhododendrons. Ground at edge of bank appears just as high as the circular concrete plinth. Nice quiet feel, nobody else around. Followed various paths/tracks west then North, Nw to drop onto Billinge end road heading South towards Stanley Hill..... This hill completes Blackburn-with-Darwen u/a .Dazingdale09/12/2017
Several paths to the top. I imagine there would be a lovely view from the top if it wasn't hidden by the trees. Even in winter, when the trees are bare, the view is barely seeable.Alan Moore17/11/2017
Parked on Billinge Avenue, although there is a Witton Country Park parking area on Under Billinge Lane, which is nearer. From Under Billinge Lane, followed various paths and MTB trails to the top. With JT.Sprog08/10/2017
Popped up on the way to Manchester. Very quiet and leafy.jenx21/06/2017
With Jenx and Bryher from the West, parking for 3-4 cars in old lane that lead to CP. CP shown on maps to NE of hill now closed. Good strolling through the woods, lot of rhodi incursions, nice sandstone features. Rock outcrops on summit, view being slowly choked off by the growing trees. Good diversion en route to airportnordicstar21/06/2017

Parked in a lay-by on Under Billinge Lane at SD 657 279 (but on returning to the car notice a sign that implied but did not specifically say that this may not have been allowed, oh well). Followed the paths located on the west of the hill to reach the summit and followed paths east to descend. Paths weren't too steep at any point but were uneven and muddy, would defo recommend good footwear for this hill.Stormcrow19/09/2016
From Witton Park CP at SD662270. Also visited Waiwright Memorial - all as per marktrengrove, a good chap to follow.summitsup15/07/2016

Parked in the car park in Witton Country Park at SD 66242 27078 (free). Took 'Beamers' Trail' up to lane through woods and fields, then paths through forest to open summit. Also walked west to visit the Wainwright Memorial on the Yellow Hills before heading back by my outward route. For a shorter ascent, there is room for a few cars on the lane at SD 65747 27941.Man of Kernow103/10/2014

Stopped on the way to Skipton. Parked in lay by/parking space for a few cars on Billinge End Road by track, ENE of hill and walked straight up hill through woods. A lovely little walk seemingly popular with dog walkers.Jacqdaw29/03/2014

Up and down from Witton Country Park. The best thing about Blackburn.Jake99407/05/2012
