Given its Hu status this was the must visit top on our drive btw holiday lets in Scarborough and Sedbergh. We had a pleasant little stroll round but could have driven over- the HP seems to be in the middle of the road. With brother, Pete.pwheeler12/06/2021

Parked in reservoir entrance and stood on high point tending to SW side of road opposite reservoir. Did look in field to SW and possible looked as high so walked to cross roads, turned left down Well Lane then left again on PROW through Clarence House Farm. This brought me to other side of field opposite reservoir which I crossed back to the van. From this direction field is clearly lower with HP other side of hedge.mntainman06/12/2019

HEMA Amateur Radio Activation. If able to, it’s better to visit by foot or bicycle, otherwise there is little sense of achievement! Plenty of footpaths and forest walks nearby and some nice views from the summit next to the reservoir.G0DEB55916/08/2018

Roadside HP. Had a wander round to bag the 3 trigs on and around the covered resr. I couldn't possibly admit to accessing the compound - but if I did, it would have been up and over the easy main gates, it was a quiet Sunday morning and not a soul was stirring!jonglew11/03/2018

Underwhelming. Parked at gate and bagged indistinct snowy ground next to high secure fence. Refurbishment work ongoing inside but no one there today. Interesting skies- bight aquamarine strip beneath with cloud.Denise 02/12/2017

Easy parking on wide verge by gates to covered reservoir. Got out of car & walked 20yd SE along grass verge, crossed road & walked back 20yd along opposite verge which appears to be slightly higher. (S)gerrybowes02/09/2017

Parked at road bend south of Ampleforth at SE 58458 78265 near recreation area. Took track south by fields to wood, by bridge over river and up to fish pond on the abbey's estate. Then followed path on its east side and track through forest up to a pool. Then up to forest road WSW to road, then south-east to summit on road next to reservoir just south of crossroads. Returned the same way. Done while on retreat at Ampleforth Abbey.Man of Kernow121/06/2014

There is some redevelopment work going on at the resevoir and it looks like a surdy fence is going to be installed. I was lucky today was the temporary fence proved less challenging.Father Ted23/01/2011
