Parked at Church. Visited view finder then head down 60 steps and follow faint track into woods and up to summit stone on the boundary Fence. Good views from view finder. Fairly Steep pull up to summit. Visited Church after.Jephcote8301/10/2023

Easy bag from St Bartholomew's Church. I used a Bramley/Alex C combo. Walk to the trig/viewfinder, go down about sixty steps then follow path on left, easily to the summit. Experienced baggers will consider it an obvious path; novices must have faith.Wycombe Wanderer26/08/2023
As Alex C. Easier than I expected and no thrashing through brambles or other undergrowth required. What I took to be the summit stone is less than six inches from the fence line and therefore easy enough to put a foot on it . A garden visit seemed superfluous.milimana18/11/2022
Approached the summit from the path to the south through open woodland. There's a low barrier of cut rhododendron a metre or two away from the property boundary now though this isn't really any significant obstacle. Small barking dog was very vociferous and I didn't linger any longer than needed and just headed back down the same way I'd come up.Alex C11/11/2022
From Church car park. Short walk to viewfinder, 7am too early to disturb residents garden explored up to bwf. Lovely morning and good views.N.Morters24/09/2022
Third ascent from St Bartholemew's church car park. Disappointing to find trig pillar wholly disappeared as in encased on a stone built toposcope. Propper highest point inaccessible reallyvegibagger23/04/2022
Parked off Green Lane. Easy stroll to viewfinder then down a few steps and up through wood to top.Bramley13/11/2021
Parked in church c/p, then path around reservoir. Up to trig / topograph. Too early to do the last bit in the cottage garden...DanMaisieBex29/08/2021
97 bus from Gloucester to the Old Elm Inn. Pleasant evening stroll on good paths.Moorponder04/08/2021

As others, from car park by church graveyard at SO 8818 1900 - SW & then W. along narrow road between raised reservoirs & past Chosen Cottage to T-junction - Turned left & a short climb up RoW to viewfinder - S. down steps on RoW for about 50m & then E. along a faint path through thinly wooded area before heading up to obvious summit; this lies a few metres S. of the boundary fence to the rear of Chosen Cottage. From P @ SO 8818 1900. Visited TP/viewpoint and highest point (via short steep brambly climb from path to the E).summitsup29/09/2020
With K. You can park almost at topAshley08/09/2019
Parked at church, paths to encased trig. Down path which curves round until steep wood with brambly nettles could be climbed to summit adjacent garden of house. Was busy taking readings when lady appeared, wondered how I'd got there. She pointed to the stone she'd placed there (mentioned by ger). Insisted I returned under the b/w and out through her garden - that's GOML in reverse!Aye Jimmy17/06/2019
Parked at the church car park, and followed the road to the house with the trig, then on top the view point. Yet another great view. Followed track back to the church and yet another great view East. We left just as the congregation were driving up the very narrow road, so turning this bit of the descent into the most challengingChinnockC26/05/2019
Old trig easily reached, high point in garden needs permission from owners who gladly give with polite knock on door or call across amazing woodland garden. With Jenx and Bryher, 5th Hump of day.nordicstar01/01/2019
A popular hill. Interesting church, found the trig, then kindly allowed visit to the top in very pretty garden.jenx01/01/2019
Could not get direct to summit from entombed trig (viewpoint). Called at nearby house & was given permission, by a charming couple, to reach summit via their garden - lady even helped me crawl through BWF. I reckon the summit point is just within the garden & the lady is going to place a stone at this point - a P100 summit in your garden - super!ger30/10/2018
Hucclecote circular.Smudge28/10/2018
Cycled as far up the hill as I could manage, then locked up to a signpost to walk the rest. Trig point is easy to reach, actual summit too overgrown for the casual bagger...AngiLala14/04/2018
Parked in the free car park at St Bartolomew's church. The summit is heavily vegetated but there is a good view from the converted trig.Sprog12/08/2017
A round of Gloucester, Churchdown Hill from Church parking easy paths to top, nice view frim trig, Alney Island, nice to wander round but difficult to determine high point, Good pull up Robins Wood Hill & great views from Beacon/Trig, Leckhampton Hill from quarry parking, good views & interesting Devil's Chimney, Finally-quick jaunt through tall grass to Birdlip Trig & top, very warm all day some Sun.apricorum25/06/2017
Bagged as YSM618 Chosen Hill. Early morning start to finish the last 3 on our mega trig bagging list. Drove up to church and parked. Surprised to see workmen up here this early fitting gravestones, looked hard work! Quick and easy walk over to the converted trigpoint which had lovely views. Very cold and frosty start to the day.thejackrustles25/04/2017
Much glutinous mud on a myriad of paths. Disappointed to find trig entombed in stone with topograph on top; should we start a free -the -trig campaign? But the summit proved to be up a steep , forested bank behind Chosen Cottage , outside, just , of their barbed wire fence. Lovely views from church. Various covered reservoirs also in summit area.Denise 17/02/2017
A sportingly muddy ascent over fields and Tinkers Hill to the entombed trig point. High point ~ 80m SE of the trig point best approached up its thinly wooded SW slope.RichardM17/02/2017
Quick bag before breakfast from the nearby Premier Inn. Easy walk to viewfinder/trig, followed by a fight through vegetation to get to the highest point.Tony J11/02/2017
First of 3- a drive up to the church car park and about 1 km wandering about visiting the summit, the paths to the churchyard where there were better views. A pretty spot.pwheeler22/09/2016

Sunday stroll from Churchdown in glorious sunshine. The hill is extremely muddy on the paths around the perimeter, once an Iron Age fortification.thesweetcheat18/01/2015

Parked at church, didn't fancy the garden so did the bank at the rear, the summit is just outside the garden in trees.Chris Peart20/09/2013
Summit covered in Wessex Water reservoirs and a church. Generally good public access all over Churchdown Hill.jonglew25/06/2012
Lovely hill as Martin R, Two ways to get to the true summit one choice is to be cheeky and go into the grounds of Chosen cottage. the other is the muddy bank at the back. Did both. Bagged trig and church.Dugswell205/03/2012
P at church. Went to trig then the highest point which is in the garden of Chosen Cottage next to barbed wire fence. 13:25chrisbien06/12/2011
Easy stroll from the church carpark. Not sure why you would need to go through the garden, there is a path which leads all the way to the trig point.Herbert Anchovy18/11/2011
Not s much a stinker as made to believe. Two ways to get to the true summit one choice is to be cheeky and go into the grounds of Chosen cottage. the other is the muddy bank at the back. Did both.Martin R24/08/2011
Drive up to waterboard stuff and church - bramble fest and muddy paths. Urban and uncomfortable.fasgadh08/04/2011
My god this was hard work - claggy mud and paths that lead nowhere. I should have walked it from the road. Never mind - I saw a horse in a graveyard and you don't get that on every hill!DanHolme21/02/2011
Parked at the church and got a stern look off the vicar who parked infont of me. The trig has been encased in bricks. Did some caching whilst here.Father Ted12/12/2010
Like this sort of hill, drive to the top :-) Very well kept church and grave yard at one end of the hill, trig and top in jungle at other end!heavyhorses07/10/2010
Stroll from church. Top on a path and not overgrown now.destaylor19/09/2010

Walked up the hill with TraceyJohnboy712/04/2009
Approach from the south ro millenium beacon and then try to penetrate the shrubbery for the top which, I believe is butting on to somebody's garden (difficult to tell by sight as the undergrowth prevents much vision).clivevilla03/03/2009
Parked near the top and did a circuit of the pathsrhalstead08/12/2007
