The day prior to storm Eunice hitting. From small CP near A38. Shown on OS 1:25000 map. Muddy and slippery path up from car park. Eventually grass appeared underfoot. Windy. Slippery in many places, I actually fell on my bum. Onto crook peak, tried to get to it from paths around north, coming to western side. As we walked round the wind got stronger, to the point we could barely stand. We retreated and came around the lee side, out of the wind. Got to the top but stayed away from edge. Pleasant route back with wind behind us. Only saw half a dozen people around on the top. Must be swarming in the Summer.Malcvolm17/02/2022

NT car park at ST 4125 5605 - W. along bridleway to summit rock by trig point. Fine grasses around trig point & on middle section of walk, but steeper slopes are badly eroded with little or no grass cover. Woodland suffering from ash dieback. (S)gerrybowes07/04/2021

Walk from car park near quarry at Compton Bishop. Steep ascent to Crook Peak and east to next HP at Wavering Down. Continue along ridge, descending to A38 and then long climb towards next HP at Callow Hill. Note due to northerly extension of limestone quarry, the path is diverted. Any former grassy summit is now gone and the best we could do is reach the highest point on the other side of a fence. Retrace route taking alternative way back from Hill Farm below Wavering Down. 10.28miles; walking time 4hrs,20mins; average speed 2.4mphHowards21/03/2020
Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log: #15 'trig' of the trip. #9 Pillar. Last one of the day. Nice walk up from car park through Kings Wood's. Loved the farmhouse (Hill Farm) on the way up what a fantastic place to live! A bit more tricky going down wet, slippy slopes on the return journey in the pitch dark.thejackrustles06/03/2020
