Blundered about in the woods for a bit until beleived we must have found the heighest spot. Shall return one day to enjoy woodland in in-leaf splendour. With Geraldine.Pete West29/01/2024
Followed Gerry's route from the car park to the S, along paths to the bat house. Flat summit area. 20m NE in the wood might be as high.LizH14/08/2023
Parked in the car park and walked up to bat tower, then wandered off into the woods to look for the summit.Minto30/06/2023

Afternoon at Emmetts Garden NT place, then went in search of hill and trig-but-not at nearby Toy's Hill. Parked in the car park and walked up to bat tower, then wandered off into the woods to look for the summit.MysteriousSue11/07/2021
Large car park to S. at TQ 4698 5169 - From N. end of car park, took path which heads NW (waymarked 'Disabled Route') to crossroads - Straight across & up to T-junction - Turned right & then about 100m to land adjacent to bat house (TQ 46912 52064). A total distance of less than 400m. (S)gerrybowes13/04/2021
An Easter Sunday walk with family. Continued from Crockham Hill as part of a circuit from Hosey Common Car Park. Ascended from the south & visited the topograph on the way up. Headed off-path through the wood to avoid the busy car park. Summit much quieter although no views.millionmts04/04/2021
A circular walk from Westerham. It appears that the hill has acquired some notoriety. A JD bag on a tree stump, according to the chap I met, held unsavoury garments and should not be touched. I had to sanitise hands and mind!PhilipChaston21/03/2021
Circular walk from Edenbridge via Toy's Hill and Chartwellrjf3518/10/2020

Popular place for walkers. From main car park and up through woods to bat tower.Mark Sims01/03/2019
Walked up from the NT Car Park, found the site of Weardale Manor and the NT Bat Tower first, before venturing into the woods to find the summit.Sussexman27/01/2019
walked up here today with several good friends from the main car park. This was the first of two hills 'bagged' todaydave-harris27/01/2019
From CP to south, good tracks to Bat Tower. Good wander round the area to be sure of summitnordicstar10/05/2018
From NT cp to bat tower. Then south to trig pillar which isn't. It's a toposcope or something.ngthack15/03/2018
Westerham to Sevenoaks. Revisit.Smudge02/02/2018
Walk from and back to Hurst Green station mainly along Greensand Way, except for a detour via the footpath in front of Chartwell. Also went over Crockham Hill on the way. A pleasant hill on a late Summer day especially on the walk up from Toy's Hill villagetrimarc222/09/2017
With K. Nothing to it. Saw two deer at close quarters.Ashley30/04/2017
Visited in Mar 2016 on a walk including the grounds of Chartwell and Ide Hill. Shorter walk today with brother, Pete's first visit; Toys Hill car park, then summit (5 mins), Emmet's gardens tea room, Ide Hill, then back by the Greensand Way. Easter Friday, sunny, bluebells, bone dry underfoot (!) and a seemingly limitless supply of warm scones meant this classic weald walk was busy, but pleasantly so.pwheeler14/03/2017
From NT car park to Bat Tower. Mounds to west slightly higher.PeterD07/03/2017
Edenbridge Town - Toy's Hill - Crockham Hill - Hurst Green. Summit is by bat house. Nice woods, though strange seeing no mature trees and lots of young birch after the 1987 storm. Great views from the village on the S slopes - what a place to live.Mark Jackson25/02/2017
From the NT Carpark walked up through woods with Molly to the Bat Tower (converted in 1998) sitting on the summit.JohRvs21/08/2016
Parked in the car park on the road called Toy's Hill, just outside the village of the same name. A quick and easy ascent, a popular hill with dog walkers. With JT and HT.Sprog21/08/2016
From the free NT car park. Only a short walk to the old reservoir tower, now a Bat roost. Felt to us that this, or possibly the eathy mounds to its W, was the high point of the wooded flat topped hill.RichardM30/01/2016

From large car park. Flat summit area.RobertP12/12/2015
Parked in car park (TQ 46933 51660). Came across bat tower quite by chance and highest ground behind looks likely high point. Then had a wander in thick woods (would not want to do it in summer). Various candidates in overall flat wooded area, including ground in woods (TQ 46870 51940) near path junctionmntainman04/03/2015

Cycled up from Edenbridge Station with Chris as part of a cycling pub crawl - won't be taking that hill on again! A shame the summit is wooded and there aren't any views to be had.Richard21/06/2014
Stopped at the NT car park before wandering to the top. Bit muddy underfoot.steverd10/05/2014

The bat tower seemed as good a candidate as anywhere for the summit but had a prowl around anyway.Chris Peart10/04/2013
From Hosey Common in the snow. Nice to do a decent hill after the nearby county tops.rhalstead12/03/2013
Parked in a dog walkers car park. Uphill on the road, into the wood to a NT bat house at the GPS grid ref. 15.10. No view - wood.arranc01/03/2013

Bagging Clems / Humps- a short stop off on the way from Ditchlng to Wellington College for an IB residential course. Had enjoyed previous day at nearby Chartwell with Dad, Jennifer & Derek.Chris Pearson26/10/2011
Followed the woodland paths from the car park. Uninspiring summit with views all obscured by trees.davidpettit8422/10/2011
Batty - good car park for overnighting.Martin R20/08/2011
Parked in the car park, and did a 2.5 mile circular walk mainly to the south. This allowed for an ascent of 105m. Headed for the bat tower and from there walked around the woods looking for any bump that might be higher.garyhoney20/03/2011
Parked at official car park south of the top.clivevilla20/07/2010
Pleasant area to bimble around. Highest point seemed to be in woods a couple of hundred yards south of Bat Tower.wheresthepath21/02/2010
Nice woodland with a few old pollards, many sadly dead. Visited the bat tower and a ruined manor house and saw a weasel. Accompanied by Meg who managed to walk most of it aged 2 years and 4 days.Herbert Anchovy25/09/2009
Good area for walking or cycling, path good enough for wheelchairs from free car park. Went to Water Tower which is now converted for bat home.Nick29/03/2009
Left the Batmobile in the car park, then proceeded to the Bat Tower to bag HuMP, then tramped around woods to bag trig. Sunny autumnal day.Dugswell217/10/2007
Parked car park then tracks up. Easy. Trouble is finding the top - its in a large thicket of trees - all much of a muchness. GPS to exact point near enough and there is nothing to indicate the top apart from thicket. Fox and Hounds does good lunch.destaylor09/10/2007
