Nipped up here with Sarah so she could bag the Hump and I revisited the summit by the Hawthorn bush. Had tried to organise a visit inside the fort but no availability till May. Perhaps another time.assynt_bob15/04/2022

As SteveSmith, but car park quiet & managed to park within 10m of the hawthorn bushes & bramble. Enough space to get behind the bushes to the summit by security fence. Good view across the Solent to Portsmouth. (S)gerrybowes14/04/2021
5th of 6 HuMPs today. A walk up with Bembridge Fort and Downs NT car park adjacent to summit at NW end of car park. Careless parking meant I had to walk further than necessary, but pleasantly surprised to see there is a worn path around hawthorn bush then through brambles stopping at the high point between the bush and barb wire fence giving some validity to my pursuit.mntainman22/09/2020
Cycled here from Shanklin - super views in all directions.Richard10/09/2020
Short walk from car park, HP between Hawthorn bush and BWF. Then took a walk down to Yarborough monument.PeterD08/07/2020

Hard to know where natural HP is- probably under the fort. However, we settled on a spot near the carpark and a hawthorn bush. Great views on a sunny day after a tour of Bembridge Fort and visit to the sad toppled trig. Cut marks on nearby boundary stone and Yarborough monument too.Denise 17/09/2019
After visit to the fort. Hawthorn bush beside BWF at edge of car park. SE side of fort. Great views.RichardM17/09/2019
I came here on a work trip to look for white-tailed eagles and was delighted to get the bonus of two hill ticks. Parked in the car park and set up our scopes to survey the marshes below. Only had to wander a few metres to get to the highest point outside of the Palmerston Fort. Didn't see any eagles although the GPS tracker showed we only missed one by a few minutes as it arrived back on the island after a six day excursion around the south of England. Did see hobbies, great white egrets, water rail and marsh harriers.Herbert Anchovy05/09/2019

I had a tour of Bembridge Fort by the National Trust volunteers (Tuesdays only, April-October). Absolutely fascinating! Got up high inside and walked all the outside and the Yarborough Monument.Nick04/10/2016
Solo visit late afternoon, windy but great views all around. Culverdown road leads up top the fort. This is off Sandown road. I would say its best aproached from the east heading west as the turn in to culverdown is tricky. One man Bucket 21/08/2016
