The verge by the bend in the road seemed to be the highest point opposite the parking spot.we were happy with that. Disappointing. | RowanP | 21/08/2022 |
A round of Wendover Woods and Pavis Wood from The Hale. Both summit points uncertain so walked in circles for a while. God knows what the onlookers thought. | summitter | 15/08/2022 |
Walked from Haddington Hill; along footpath, crossed field and then through Black/Northill/Pavis Wood. The summit seems to be on the bend in the road where the county border is. A thoroughly unremarkable place, but I did see a hot air balloon which had taken off from Great Missenden. | hillbagger91 | 10/08/2022 |
Did Hertfordshire's County Top as well as Buckinghamshire's on the same day. | DavidHiner | 09/11/2021 |
This was my second intentional County Top! There was very little here to signify that this is a County Top, it was still an exciting day ticking off my first two County Tops!
I walked from Wendover, up a rather steep path at the end of Beechwood Land, to get to the Buckinghamshire County Top, then continued, through Northill Wood, to Pavis Wood, the County Top of Hertfordshire!
Finished the day by walking through the beautiful Tring Park, where there is a magnificent view, and down into Tring! | Sidders S | 22/09/2021 |
Pavis Wood > Northill Wood > Wendover Wood (Cairn and summit) > Aston Hill > Buckland Hoo > Fox Lane > Pavis Wood. Fine circular walk on paths. | Winterfloodian | 21/09/2021 |

12k Circular walk taking in Haddington Hill and Pavis Wood. Nice easy walk, a lot of woodland and the occasional view of the rolling Chilterns Hills. Neither of the HPs are particularly of note. | jarmin45 | 18/01/2020 |
25km trail running from Wendover library car park - Haddington Hill, Pavis Wood & Coombe Hill. Nice run in from the woods shame about the top itself! | Fionalevey | 08/11/2019 |

Drive up. | NormanW | 26/07/2019 |
Started from St Mary's Church in Wendover, followed Ridgeway path through Hale Wood, past Chivery Hall farm & mast and into Pavis Wood. Exiting NE corner of wood, high point is unmarked & innocuous some 75 metres south along Gadmore Lane. Taken to be where large oak forms part of hedge on eastern boundary of road. | timbo99 | 10/07/2019 |
2/2 Also on way to Bedforshire, probably the easiest county top so far | penbet | 29/06/2019 |

Summit with Anita whilst staying in Aldbury | Ghibli | 05/11/2018 |
Parked at the corner on the high point as a detour from a journey on the M1. We were going to wander over to Wendover Woods to tick off Buckinghamshire too, but lots of wind and not much time due to earlier traffic meant we decided to leave that for another trip. | jkl | 12/10/2018 |
Final and 6th hill of the day on Stage 7 of the Ridgeway walk with Lesley, having detoured off to climb Whiteleaf Hill, Pulpit Hill, Beacon Hill, Coombe Hill and Wendover Woods, this was a very short wander up the road, into the field, with the highest point being near the Oak tree within the hedge itself. Lovely part of the Ridgeway to come was the walk through Tring Park. Tring station was our destination but it seemed to take an age to get to... | Dazingdale | 27/09/2018 |
Layby at corner of road. Walked up road and wandered around field. | mart0797 | 14/08/2018 |
Parked at the layby by the junction of Shire lane and Gadmore lane. Walked along the roadside verge to highest point and then also had a few minutes stroll along the Ridgeway. Perhaps the most uninspiring county summit so far, give me a walk up a hill and trig point summit any day! | Gerry the Ranger | 04/08/2018 |
Warm, breezy, sunshine and cloud. Beautiful mixed forest. | Wycombe Wanderer | 18/07/2018 |
Parked in the Wendover Woods building site which is a result of the ongoing refurbishment and after finding the brass plaque for Haddington hill I followed the directions in Jonny Muir's book to get to the uninspiring Pavis Wood. | Buck | 20/06/2018 |

Parked at corner of Shire Lane and Gadmore Lane, quick stroll along start of Ridgeway to make sure summit bagged. Despite being midday in the middle of summer, was dark and gloomy in here. | mapple | 29/06/2017 |
