Parked by the mast. Short but boggy walk to the trig. Followed footpath to second field gate and cut back.RowanP12/03/2024
Parked on verge by track leading to transmitter and reservoir. Through gate into Top Field, although the trig is through another gate into the adjacent High Field. Boggy going underfoot. Carried on roughly the same bearing to meet the ROW running along the SW edge of the field to open up some nice, albeit misty, views.Vulcan25/02/2024
Parked at the start of the track and easy walk to trig. Misty so no views.Alan Caine02/01/2024
With DC, MGT & RHP. Started at Knossington and did a circular walk via Cold Overton.ADT27/10/2023
From Oakham, via Barleythorpe and Manor Lane, past reservoir and into Open Access land. Just me and the sheep. Iconic 'Top Field' sign and somewhat uninspiring views of Rutland. The summit is a plateau so not much to be seen but long grass and trees blowing in the wind.hillbagger9127/09/2023
Down the lane then footpath across field, over gate, left bike and up to the trig on the field boundary.visionset09/07/2023
Parked in road, which was closed for maintenance, opposite track. Easy along field edges.Minto29/06/2023
Parked on the verge on the minor road running N from the radio mast. Soggy footpath after the reservoir along the field edge, then short walk over the wooden fence to the trig point. Sheep in the field. Good views towards Rutland Water. With Gillian.richard6915/01/2023
Short stroll from the radio tower, round the field and over the fence to the trig point. Great views over Rutland Water.cjwilliams16/10/2022
Did Rutland's County top on Day 3 of a 4 Day County Top trip. An easy county top to do with very friendly vibes, very rural and easy access to the top with the iconic sign that says 'top field'. If you walk in a WSW direction from the trig for about roughly 75m, then you will be able to see very well on a clear day from all sides of the hill other then the forest that is West of the trig Point.DavidHiner21/03/2022
Started at Cold Overton and did circular walk via KnossingtonParkerP196013/01/2022
Parked at reservoir. Easy gate into pleasant field with sheepGordonAdshead06/11/2021
Set of on the wrong side of the hedge but managed to find a fenced section where I could climb over. Got through a flock of sheep without disturbing them too much. Trig point marks the top.pclyndes22/06/2021
Drove up lane past radio mast and went though gate (kindly opened by a water worker) past covered reservoir to park at end of track. Travelled along footpath out of deference to landowner (could have walked directly across 'Top Field'), climbing over fence to turn right towards top trig point. With Louis the Dachshund. Distance walked a Quarter Mile.Spartanhouse10/06/2021
Parked by reservoir, then through 3 gates to summit.PGCE06/12/2020
Parking here was tricky. I went down the muddy lane over the road from the tower and parked near the second gate, where the road opens up. Then a lovely tramp across the fields to the trig point, with views over Rutland Water. Great to be on a top which is higher than anywhere on the horizon.edmundjohnson15/10/2020

SOLO. Overnighted in Sheringham and set off on a quest to bag some of the hills in Jonny Muir's book. This was number 6. Parked close to the mast. Walked past the covered reservoir to a bend in the path. Initially took the wrong gate then walked back and took the right hand gate. Trig is on opposite side of the field on a direct line across the field keeping the bushes in the centre to the right. Trig is the other side of a gate which I nearly missed by heading to far west.Buck08/08/2020

Parked on the side road on the opposite side to the mast. Short walk past the mast and a covered reservoir to a bend in the path. Took the right hand gate and then a direct line across a field of sheep to the trig which is the other side of a fairly new looking gate.Wheelsy24/04/2019
Stopped by on the way from Rutland, drive down a layby and 0.4 mile walk through a gate, follow the fence down to the hedge and keep looking over, its hidden.NottsOutdoorLad07/04/2019

Parked on side road opp bridle path. Walk up bridle path and through gate. Path bends to right. Gate in front of you and one on right. Take the one on the right and go diagonally across field and trig will become visible just other side of another gate. Awful weather today!jedthehumanoid26/08/2018
From north along FP Trig near very new gate.PeterD16/08/2018
Water tankers were queueing to take on water from the reservoir. This is worrying. Can't remember such a long spell without rain. Got first glimpse of Rutland Water.Wycombe Wanderer17/07/2018
