Third top of the day. Not the most enjoyable, with rutted path early in the ascent. Interesting to see what had been the last Welsh deep coal mine down below (closed years ago). Achieved the top at 5.40 before descent the same way. Good views of several other Welsh tops in the distance, including others Id walked earlier in the day.acolling21/08/2019
With E. From Hendre'r Mynydd Car Park, N along A4061 to wind farm entrance. Easy walk along forest roads (national cycle route 47) to trig point. Then down forest ride to Craig y Llyn boundary. Reminded me of my orienteering days.Beeliner16/07/2019

After visiting the trig, taking a parallel path to the one taken on the way up. One of those rather unsatisfactory county tops that isn't on a summit. With X and M in rather damp conditions.Herbert Anchovy04/09/2017

Not very exciting top, but views a short distance to the north certainly are! Easy to find top at intersection of paths/firebreaks, especially if do the main summit trig first. Did a round walk on a sunny day and only met two people.Hillsidenick26/07/2013
Quick stop on the way to the main summit - in the trees, restricting visibility. Highly recommend the "On the edge" path running around the top of the escarpment above Llyn Fach. Wonderful views from there.thesweetcheat31/05/2013

No feature, Route: Pontwalby - Cwm Gwrelych - Opencast - Llyn Fach - Craig Y Llyn. Path on OS no longer exists across opencast, very difficult terrain until Llyn Fach. Not recommended.Chris Williams22/02/2009

There should be a law that county boundaries must run over watersheds to avoid stupid "halfway up" tops like this! It gives bagging a bad name!wheresthepath02/10/2004
