9 hour day from Achlean over the Great Moss. | Fife Walking | 04/05/2022 |
Saturday 14th I cycled in from Linn of Dee car park and pitched my tent at the edge of some trees approx. 3km east of the ruined Geldie Lodge.

Sunday 15th I headed north on foot ascending the boggy slopes up to the Munro Top of Carn Cloich-mhuilinn (942m). The traverse over to the Munro of Beinn Bhrotain (1157m) was mainly along a path. There was a boulder field to descent before the pathed ascent up to Monadh Mor (1113m), the second Munro of the day, I then ascended the Munro Top of Tom Dubh (918m). From here I descend back to the Allt Luineag and followed this south(ish), then down the east bank of the River Eidart. This section of the walk was brutal, as I had left Tom Dubh at 15:10 and there was no path / break in the bog, so I constantly concerned about the remaining time, in between the heavy showers. Eventually I reached the Glen Feshie to Braemar path and then ‘raced’ to get back to the tent before sunset, having a much earned cup of tea at 20:35, almost 11hrs after starting | chillyman8 | 15/08/2021 |
Solo. Achlean to Tom Dubh, Monadh Mor and Beinn Bhrotain. Heavy rain forecast in the morning but light showers in the afternoon. Summit intermittently clear on Tom Dubh but cloud down on the two munros. Strong winds dropping towards the end. Views much of the way out and back. | meltdiceburg | 06/08/2021 |
Weather fair. | MountainMac | 22/06/2021 |
A rapid there and back route covering Monadh Mor and Beinn Bhrotain from Glen Feshie (via Tom Dubh) with Harrison. Warm on the initial ascent but 30-35mph gusty wind above 900m so we didn't stop apart from a minute or two at each summit. 81.25 miles, 1510m ascent - total time 6h 25min | mproudfoot | 12/06/2021 |
Lovely warm sunny day | Chris Terrey | 17/09/2020 |

Camped below the Devil's Point and nipped up here first thing. Traversed to Loch na Stuarteig, then Monadh Mor, Beinn Bhrotain, Tom Dubh (where it started to rain), Mullach Clach a Blair and then down to Glen Feshie. Stayed at Loch Morlich YH. | jigglybones | 22/08/2019 |
Epic day! Walked solo. From Linn of Dee to White Bridge and along Lairig Ghru path to Corrour Bothy. Steep climb up good path to Devil's Point. Great viewpoint. Returned to col and traversed at around 1000m contour around Cairn Toul and Angel's Peak to point 899m above Loch nan Struirteag. Hardest part of walk ... bogs and boulder runs (not recommended!). Over the massive Munro's Monadh Mor and Beinn Bhrotain to Munro Top Carn Cloich-Mhullinn. Generally easy walking over grassy and bouldery ridges, with occasional faint paths. Descend through heather, avoiding summit of Carn Fiaclach, to path on west side of Glen Dee at the Allt Iarnaidh. Long return to White Bridge (to cross) and Linn of Dee. Weather dry and clear most of day, but closed in after Beinn Bhrotain with a heavy shower and lowering mist. Total distance about 33km ... could be reduced by about 9km with a mountain bike to White Bridge! Took me nearly 12 hours ... due to late start I finished by torchlight! | jamessteel100 | 08/08/2019 |
