Up from the reservoir. Track and grass path and then a traipse through the plantation and a fence. Wet!Buck13/02/2024
Parked at the green gate just up from the reservoir. Followed the path to woodland directly west. Followed the gap in the woods east, over moorland then up to the summit. Back by much the same way.JAdair9724/01/2024
From excellent parking on A803 at 782793, core paths to Braeface. Across field and tracks to Bowridge. Road to Glenhead. Awkward and muddy past Rashiehill, maybe avoid. Tiny road past Leys and good track to Tappetknowe, though I used neighbouring field to avoid horses. ATV track going above cliff or steep ground all the way to Birns Hill Trig. Faint path to section of fence without bw just E of bend to take me straight to Darrach Hill. Slightly awkward into forest to W to pick up track out. S down road to path to Tomtain Trig, then Garrel Hill. Down pth to Dam and off piste up Lairds Hill. ATV track all the way off to track above Corne. Down to Queenzieburn and back along marked paths and canal to start. 30km above freezing fog, with mainly helpful frozen ground. Easier ways to do these trigs, but this was well worth it.Lynnebe06/12/2023
As summitter. Decent parking to NW, about 60m S. of crossroads in Carron Bridge - From 742834, E. along track & over interesting stone bridge; the track then continues alongside remains of wall, but is badly overgrown - At end of plantation (749835) over bwf & up over pasture to summit. Highland cattle currently grazing so grass fairly short. Final approach is a bit tussocky with mixture of heather, bilberry & cotton grass.gerrybowes24/05/2023
Free parking area at the view point. Follow low stone wall on boggy track to edge of forest. Up across tussocks field to fence west of Birns. Over two bw fences to summit. Visited the trig on Birns on the way back. Solo.Dangerous Dave28/11/2022
With FY, parked at viewpoint, short walk north up the road to start of Tomtain path, followed wall to deer fence and kept that on the right to end of forestry at NS753820. Up to Birns and across to Darrach Hill. Returned below Birns crags then back the same way. No paths, wet and tussocky with lots of fences to cross. Onward to Tomtain.TRG31809/11/2022
A track from Carron Bridge starting at 742834 turns into a grass path as it goes eastwards. Once beyond a new plantation you can jump a fence and head SE through long grass (at least in summer) up to the summit. About 50 mins there and back.summitter01/08/2022

Parking due east in lay by. Over a few fences, past a small wood then follow a fence line to the top. Ground frozen, easy going.Play2End11/02/2022
On wet track from Broadside then onto rough ground which was also pretty wet. Good views all round.Crumblie223/01/2022

From NS 7383 8217, had planned to drive the logging track but gated and locked. Good track for 1.35km then across rough ground. Picked up trig pillar on the return.jonglew24/07/2021
From 739826 on the Tak-me-doon Road followed track till necessary to climb up through young trees to marshy area before indistinct top of Darrach Hill.Should have ticked it when visiting trig long time ago.Direct line to summit of Myot hill, then road walk to Broadside WTW and ancient track to Faughlin Reservoir(fishery) where I was accused of damaging the fence at the SW corner. The number of discarded booze bottles rather helped my case.lordtonult18/05/2021
First hill since lockdown ended!! Parked at the road end and usual way up. Damp after the glorious weather yesterday.curlebd18/04/2021
Parked at Tak ma doon Road viewpoint. Up road about 200m, over fence along south side of wall to new deer fence. Follow it to 753820 (edge of old, felled forest) and onto open hill. Only 2 sheep fences this way. Snowy and frozen, stunning views.iangalbraith02/01/2021
From the forest track west of the hill. Felled area not too bad. Horrid fence and a couple of step overs later on. Bog and tussock, not great. Good viewpointfasgadh07/10/2020

With Iain. From farm to E. Turned round and parked in grassy layby. About 25 minutes through boggy farmland to relatively undefined summit. Visited trig after a short chossy scrambling attempt.iangpark17/09/2020
With E. From Tak-Ma-Doon road approaching from Carron Bridge, parked by gate to forest track which is immediately after the ford. Followed this to end. The forest has long gone and replanting just started. Across difficult section of tree brashings and over a rather high and uncomfortable barbed wire topped fence despite someone wrapping a cord around the wire to assist its crossing. Over tussocky ground to Birns trig point with superb views as far as Firth road bridge and Arthur’s Seat. Then to Darrack Hill and Falkirk UA high point. Return same way. Unable to avoid said barbed wire fence that got the better of me on return - ouch!! Rain swept in on final return section of forest track.Beeliner12/09/2020

From road up the good forest track. Forest now gone and surprised to see caravan at top of forest track. A bit rough going through tree stumps, across to trig first and then on to the HP. The caravan was a good target for the return route. Up and down in just 90 mins, before resuming journey to the far North.PeterD22/06/2019
Forest track on west side. Timber being harvested so a lot of trash, but a slight ridge is clear of debris and allows access to open ground. The new barbed wire fence is a bit of a hazard: not even my legs were long enough to cross unscathed!PGCE07/03/2019

From the view point car park on the Tak ma doon road. Two hours for just under five mile. This hill is a bit difficult to get to in my opinion I got there by walking down the road to a wooden gate followed wall uphill till I reached a high wire fence followed this around the plantation then walked up edge of said plantation past the hill with a trig until I could cross tussocky grass to Darrach hill on a clear day you may be able to see the lone tree on the summit.WAYNE ROWLETT01/08/2018
From the north from the stud. Good track half way and then gentle climb over moor. Not too bad underfoot. Was adopted by a delightful brown collie who led/followed me all the way from the farm to the top and back. Stunning weather.Campbell Singer24/06/2018

Park at end of forest rd to W. Up forest rd to turning circle where there is a good vehicle track inside the trees to the ride at the edge of the forest. Then very big tussocks to summit. Saved trig for another day.Thearlaichdubh29/08/2017
From forest road end at 738821. From the turning circle at 75008 82092 a gap leads to a widening firebreak leading to the open hillside.NormanW13/07/2017
