A divert from the Ebor Way after Ilkley Moor. Lovely day with the muted browns of the moors and the sun pouring its revitalising lighting over the landscape.PhilipChaston15/05/2022

Parked in the car park that has a café to the north of the Cow and Calf pub and walked clear paths for just under Two mile to reach the Lanshaw reservoir's and a easy uphill walk to the collapsed cairn, a little under Four mile taking an hour and half.WAYNE ROWLETT14/10/2021
From the top of Ilkley Road and onto Burley Moor via the 12 apostles. Apparently they're the most badly damaged prehistoric site. Very good paths between, although Burley Moor is easily missed. It is within view of the shed and is to the right of occupation road on the descent. 10km and 1hr 45,but I did overshoot by quite a way!Nicky C05/04/2021

On own. Spring sunshine but a biting cold wind. Small parking area on Bingley Road just to W of Moorland Crest Farm. W along road (very busy) past Leedale Farm to track (Dales High Way & Millennium Way) running NW. The boundary stones all have names carved in them. From stile followed small path close to fence heading NE. The Great Skirtful of Stones are reported to be the remains of an old burial mound.Beeliner26/03/2019
From Rombalds Moor along the paved path, down to this top.Andrew Pearson30/09/2018
Parked at Whetstone Gate and made the easy walk to Rombalds Moor (singing on Ilkley Moor Bar t'at on the way) before continuing partly on paths and partly through fairly easy heather to Burley Moor. I expect the gamekeepers would not have liked me walking off path and I laughed at the irony of them being upset because they wanted to protect the grouse so that they could shoot them.clivevilla09/09/2018
Drove up from Menston and parked just before Hermit pub. Walked down the road a couple of hundred metres and found a path on the left through a gate. Follow that up until reach a wire fence. Head right up the gentle incline until the high point which I took to be a small cairn just the other side of the fence. Cracking views over Wharfedale.jedthehumanoid11/03/2018
On way from Ilkley Moor to The Chevin. Good pathstrimarc207/12/2017
Parked at the entrance to the farm next to Heather Bank. Obtained permission retrospectively from pleasant farmer who also put me back on the fp on other side of wall. Good path all the way. Great views.Campbell Singer08/11/2017
Parked near road junction to ENE, followed FP and track up past Crag Top and York view to the top. Now I know what a constitutes a great skirt full of stones. Came back down by millennium Way.PeterD05/09/2017
2nd log of the day (that sounds wrong) starting from Ilkley and climbing up to the waterfalls just past White Wells then up to the Badger stone before climbing up to Rombalds Moor, then over to the 12 Apostles stone circle before arriving at this very flattened cairn. Apparently the Centre stone from the 12 Apostles is now lying in a hollow. I continued on a bearing to Baildon hill.Dazingdale04/02/2017

From the north-east. Initial paths become sheep tracks which give a reasonably direct route to the top.JohnStoneham11/09/2016
From the Cow & Calf on a glorious evening, then on to Rombald's Moor via the Twelve Apostles.Nick Down123/08/2016
Below the quiet moorland rages a fierce development battle over the small green belt gap between Menston & Guisley (home of Harry Ramsden's chip shop). A flavour of the submitted oppositions include -' what is rounding off development if it is not urban sprawl?' and 'If local congestion can be quoted as a reason for 2160 to be coded red then surely it must be even more relevant for 3026 and 4043 which together constitute 629 more dwellings in an already congested area coming to terms with the 326 new dwellings currently being built on Netherfield Road.If 3028 would constitute urban sprawl why not 3026 and 4043. Access would be no better onto Ings Lane than 3028 onto Moor Lane.3026 in particular is prone to flooding which cannot be ignored. Ings means water meadow and Mire Beck is self explanatory. In times of heavy rain the field floods and the beck bursts its banks to the east'. An over-demand for jobs, schools, doctors is also quoted. What will have happened in 5 years time I wondChris Pearson25/07/2016
