Parked on Aldi car park; entrance at SK 51314 42732 - NNW along Mellors Way to pick up RoW, signposted Swingate & Kimberley - At M1 footbridge, turned left, immediate right & along well-worn path to within 10m or so of the estimated grid reference. A bit of path goes through scrub towards banking & oak tree. Seems as good a point as any.gerrybowes04/06/2023
Parked residential road near Aldi, out via fp, back direct through the business park. Unclear where hp is. Another boring non-top.Nick Canute12/06/2022

Drove in from roundabout to E and parked by rocks at start of track. Nice walk but noisyGordonAdshead06/11/2021
From Windmill Hill via Robin Hood Way then left after the footbridge over the motorway. Would not recommend. Returned to Swingate by bridge to NE and mast.Wycombe Wanderer23/09/2021

A Two mile round trip from Kimberley cemetery on the north side of the A610 north of Swingate following obvious rights of way, taking 45 minutes for this uninspiring top.WAYNE ROWLETT08/02/2020
Drove along Mellors Way noting parking charge signs on access road. Found unadopted track between hotel and Ash Tree Court find parking space off road at bridleway junction SK51292 43090. BIG mistake. Followed bridleway to M1 turning SW along muddy path to field boundary. Followed county boundary to beyond large tree, ensuring crossed over high point. Returned same way only to find stuck in mud so stay on road if park here or at least reverse on keeping drive wheels on solid ground.mntainman04/02/2020
Parked to the ESE at Holly Tree Farm pub large car park SK512429. Presently, almost unimpeded route to summit, but it looks as if development will eventually take place.David Evans11/01/2020
On own. Raining. Parked on Main Street opposite Strelley Hall and walked up road to Holly Lodge. Through gates immediately after Holly Lodge and along edge of paddock with two horses in it, through gap in hedgerow to top. On return approached by owners of Holly Lodge asking me what I was doing. They are aware of Nottingham UA top and would prefer if people would call at house to obtain permission before accessing their land. Very amenable but understandably concerned about who is on their land and why. As for summit - very boring and incessant traffic noise from M1. IF USING THIS ROUTE PLEASE GET PERMISSION AT HOLLY LODGE FIRST.Beeliner28/07/2019
Took RoW over M1 after visiting Windmill Hill. Immediately after crossing Mway turned left into a paddock and walked its length. NE side of hedgerow accessed through narrow band of woodland, nothing gained as unable to assess which side is higher.jonglew20/07/2019
I took the oppotunity to bag 3 local summits as I got to finish work early. This was the third of the three. I parked in the local business park and walked up through the fields which are preped for further development. I climbed through the thick hedge (near the large oak tree) into the paddock. Walked around the boundary of the field to the summitdazedemon17/06/2019
A day trip down to Birmingham to collect a speaker cabinet...and 15 new hills completed on the journey :) All done by the simplest methods already given by othersthe_adam27/01/2018
Short walk from hotel car park.rhalstead02/12/2017
From the track alongside the Belfry Hotel. The land looks ripe for further development and it could be that the top disappears under concrete and tarmac in the future.Campbell Singer13/11/2017
Stopped off on way down M1. Followed Wheelsy's suggestion. About 50 yards along path there is a crossroads. Take left track easily to the bridge. That's if you really have to bag this boring hill.catman09/12/2016
Drove into the business park and up to the left of the Belfry Hotel. The tarmac road turned into a stone track which I parked at the end of. From here a public footpath, marked on the 1:50,000 map but not on the 1:25,000 one, led up to the bridge over the motorway.Wheelsy06/08/2016
Solo. Also went to the old high point on the N side of the motorway.Dangerous Dave30/06/2016
After Windmill Hill. When track to Windmill Hill turns away from M1, go straight on alongside motorway to bridge over to south side. On other side turn right & reach high point in 100 m. Previously had claimed this as a drive-by bag, but thought it more ethical to actually visit.ngthack10/03/2016
From business park (lots of double yellows ignored) up through grass to path by wood.SS14/11/2015
From Strelley Hall, through two gates to access field on a wet day.PeterD29/10/2015
Footpath from the new business park to boundary of field by bridge over the M1 motorway linking London to Leeds (193 miles) The M1 was built 1959-68 and this section between Jct 25-28 is now a controlled motorway that uses variable speed limits to try to increase traffic flow.Chris Pearson08/08/2015
1/10 Foggy start to day walked up from the industrial estate and quick hop through wood to clear high pointFergalh04/07/2015
After visiting Windmill Hill. Not very inspiring.Aye Jimmy22/05/2015
Early start from Jury's Inn in Nottingham to fit a couple of bags in before an all day training session. Went to the P30 after this.Herbert Anchovy11/05/2015
Included as part of an 8.5 mi walk from my house in Aspley, first dropping into the Mulberry tree cafe in Strelley hall, continuing up the Bridleway and where it turns left I climbed the gate leading to the paddock. I followed the edge on the motorway side, then the boundary and walked back via highest bump in the field. This field is overlooked by the cluster of houses that look onto it but I encountered no problems, continuing on to Windmill hill. This is not the most interesting top but the countryside surrounding it is pleasant.Dazingdale10/04/2015
The 6th of 9 county high points todaymcallmar08/04/2015
Paddock near NE corner near wood. 2 horses wondering what I was up to, TBH so was I :-). Also bagged the 'old' summit on way home.RHW21/12/2014

A very ordinary field, won't be looking to visit this one again.JohnStoneham09/09/2012
Parked to NE in Nots Belfry Hotel CP. Followed lane and then good track to footbridge. Agree top of bank to west of hedge highest, easy access as new plantings have been taking place. Top of bridge over motorway is highest!nordicstar01/08/2012

I am not sure the summit is as in the picture. I think it is just over the fence on the top of the motorway embankment.simon and co20/07/2011

Really nice walk up from Ilkeston, over the motorway bridge, quick nip to the top and then back to Ilkeston via Babbington.DanHolme27/04/2011
Quick tick with field having 2 horses in it which kept to themselves as I walk around the field edge, to copse and wood edge.Dugswell230/01/2011
Walked up from Swingate. Very cold feeling -2C made my face sting. Rough and rutty farm track had frozen solid and was like walking on broken concrete. Made my ankles hurt. Still an enjoyable walk though crossing over the M1 on a small bridge.Cirrus9uk18/12/2010
