I took in both grid references mentioned by RHW i.e. the one behind the water tower and the one in the main car park where I can recommend the giant sausage rolls on sale in the snack van together with their bread and butter pudding if you are feeling greedy.Father Ted02/09/2016
From the Beacon Hills car park, walked across playing fields to RoW, then along woodland track to the Gravel Hill Wood car park. HP somewhere along there.jonglew31/07/2016

As it on a imaginary boundary, it is not always highest point in vicinity. Appears to be along FPPeterD08/12/2015
Lovely sunny Autumn afternoon. Wandered around the main contenders for the high spot with an OS map - the junction of the church and Dry Street; the footpath south of the water tower and in the country park west of Westley Hall.Southend Bagger25/10/2015
There is a car park at the South end of the footpath over the top. Quite a pleasant hill for Thurrock.simon and co14/04/2015
Langdon means ‘Long Hill’. The Country Park sits on a 385ft high crescent shaped hilly ridge, giving panoramic views over the Thames Estuary and across to London. 5 rangers help to maintain the park and act as visitor guides however as at Feb 2015 Thurrock council's proposal is to have one ranger and an apprentice to save £100,000. I did a short loop taking in both tops. The tall beacon was full of wood and ready to be lit - seems early if for the 70th anniversary of VE day in May as still 2 month away?Chris Pearson26/02/2015
Boundary bank behind water tower; alternative (TQ 67927 86540) is N side of road at car park which is a good spot to accessRHW25/01/2015
