30 km cycle from Battersea | Rockdoctor | 16/05/2020 |
2nd tump after Batchworth Heath using series of fp's that run relatively directly from Batchworth Heath (sometimes coralled between houses) with large trees even growing in the middle. Walked to Res.gates and even checked land inside as reservoir could be covering highest natural ground. Climbing out was more difficult! Continuation to Bushey Heath... | Dazingdale | 19/01/2020 |
Walked up to top as road closed | Bramley | 29/08/2019 |
Travelcard Tump- Metro line train from Kingsbury to Northwood Hills, walk/ run up Potter St Hill, HP, gloomy fp then broad avenues to Northwood sta. I wonder if ever I ran up here with the Metros running club. I remember they took delight in the hills round here, and the way we made all the big houses' security lights (mandatory in Northwood?) come on, on evening runs. | pwheeler | 01/08/2019 |
Jaunt around London to mop up a few hills. Walked up from Northwood Hills station (about 20 mins). Some money in them there hills that's for sure. | jedthehumanoid | 29/06/2019 |
Last of the day on a 31mile cycle round from Watford in heat and sunshine. High point either on the private road or at reseroir gates, all easily accessible. | RichardM | 29/06/2019 |
bagged while cycling from shenley to south oxhey along with bathcworth heath and shenley hill | The-Z-Man | 12/06/2019 |
Decided to drive up the road as the rain was cold.
Top was adorned with a golf course, school and many big houses and fields | ChinnockC | 19/01/2019 |
London marker post is fun. 30km run Rickmansworth to Ikea Wembley via Batchworth Heath, Potter Street Hill, Harrow on the Hill, Sudbury, Horsenden Hill and Hanger Lane. | Fionalevey | 09/12/2018 |
Walked from Northwood Hill tube: an enjoyable walk with a sustained gradient. Visited the white boundary marker and reservoir gates. | Nick Down1 | 10/10/2018 |
Approach from south. London marker post still there. | arranc | 28/06/2018 |
Walked therough the woods from Oxhey Woods car park. A pleasant ten minute stroll each way. | clivevilla | 26/05/2018 |
From the Oxhey South Drive cp. Some very posh property. | Campbell Singer | 29/03/2018 |
Simple drive up and get out... | rhalstead | 28/01/2018 |
I drove to the top of Potter Hill Road where there was just enough room to turn around then had a walk about to bag the reservoir and the boundary marker. | Dugswell2 | 06/03/2017 |
Drove down Sandy Lane from NW. By reservoir gates. Also visited the post. | PeterD | 27/11/2016 |
A pleasant mile uphill from Northwood Hills station. So refreshing to have to walk up hill to a top in London. The presence of the City of London Coal Duty post near the top was an added bonus. I felt the top was by the gate of the reservoir. | Sixtyplus | 10/11/2016 |
Clockwise walk round reservoir through oxhey woods | vegibagger | 18/10/2016 |
16/16 Last of sixteen on London Borough Top bagging day (The Vale/Horsenden Hill/Sudbury Hill/Wakemans Hill Avenue/Bushey Hill (Boundary)/Highgate/Highgate Hill/Highwood Hill/Bournwell Hill (Hadley Wood)/Pole Hill/Wanstead Flatts/Marks Gate/Cabin Hill/Havering Atte Bowe Farm/Havering Atte Bowe Church/Potter Street Hill) | Fergalh | 20/08/2016 |
3hr walk from Northwood to Stanmore. Lovely path all the way from Batchworth Heath. Top is unassuming junction. | Mark Jackson | 12/08/2016 |
Old marker post is probably where the boundaries of Hertfordshire and London boroughs of Hillingdon and Harrow meet, and if so is Hillingdon's highest point. However Tump summit is 50-100m to N, on private road (open to walkers), alongside covered reservoir - summit is flat and much of the ground is manmade. | AlanD | 26/05/2016 |
Parked at car park to the north near entrance to Oxhey Drive. Descended to Ashridge Drive then reascended partly via Oxhey woods then took trail through woods as far as reservoir, then turned right to get to the private road beside the reservoir, highest point either on road beside a house or a grass bank on other side of road beside reservoir, lovely walk back through woods to car past an interesting wood sculpture. | pdantic | 01/04/2016 |
TD, C & H by mobile kennel | This Dog | 30/01/2016 |
Drove down Sandy Lane, to reservoir gates. | jonglew | 04/12/2015 |
One and half hr evening walk from Northwood Hill tube (after Wembley tops).Gated mansions with security cameras - then passing Northwood military HQ -home to a bewildering range of functions;1) Joint Forces Command (2) the Permanent Joint Headquarters (3) the Multi National Headquarters (4) the Commander Operations for the Royal Navy and (v) the NATO Allied Maritime Command. Hope they know who is who.

Footpath led through housing to a dusk foray onto the Batchwood Heath golf course for Tump high point and a speedy exit around the greens direct down to Moor Park tube pleasingly at the outer limit of my Zone 6 Travel Card. | Chris Pearson | 29/06/2015 |
From Sandy lane. Took the white post as the top. | bolieve | 04/04/2015 |
Got lost getting here but come down from north via Sandy Lane. Parking may be restricted here in near future but that's OK as there's nothing to see here but the old London tax limit marker post. | Nick | 18/01/2015 |
Drove in from S. In terms of the P30, resr gate is highest accessible point and ground appears to be level (and obviously manmade) beyond to N and E. | RHW | 14/12/2014 |
Short amble through Oxhey Wood from the car park | squeegs | 22/03/2014 |
Parked at top easy enough. Nothing of interest except the old metal boundary marker. | Hillsidenick | 21/07/2013 |
Sandy Lane is the road in (to six acres) for say navs. Junction by WB fence and old boundary marker is good enough. Dreadful photo of the road furniture spoils an otherwise commendable boundary marker. | nordicstar | 05/02/2013 |
Visited With Darren while trying to visit all the high points on London in one day. | magirob | 10/01/2013 |
'Bagged' this, erm, hill as part of 5 north London borough tops whilst on my way to the 2012 Xmas party. More accurately, got out of car at assumed highest point and then drove off again. | RichieRambler | 06/12/2012 |
What a palava getting to this one. Make sure you set your sat nav to approach from Potter Street Hill as everything else is private. | simon and co | 09/10/2012 |
Last "long distance" bike trip from Kew. A particularly nice habiated area to the sout east. Prvate and CCTV cameras, but was stil possible to rool down from the summit on a bike in the dark and enjoy the view. | NilsOS | 11/10/2010 |
Highest point probably at the welcome to the borough signpost. You can pretty much drive all the way up to it from the S. A poor way to end our Borough Top bagging run. | wheresthepath | 21/02/2010 |
Walked via Oxhey woods and ended up at Ruislip woods. | Overthehilljill | 20/10/2009 |
The tall fencing of the footpath to the west is collapsing onto the path mid way down. | Smudge | 13/04/2008 |
The white post in the corner. | destaylor | 25/02/2008 |
