With Beinn Dubh to SE from good parking at NN 4075 0845. Leaving Beinn Uamha, I followed the fence line (approximately) to a gate at NN 3992 0792 after which I found an overgrown, grassy track which lead all the way back to the track near the start (much to my relief).carole engel24/06/2023
From a gravel parking area on the B829 besides the pylons. A track winds its way up and under the pylons until reaching a deer fence just short of Lochan Mhaim nan Carn. A quick skip up to Stuc Gille Chonnuill, then back down to follow the fence over reasonable ground almost all the way up to Beinn Uamha and her North Top. Returned back down the deer fence then pylon path route. 2.5hrs.summitter03/03/2023
From the asphalt parking area on the Inversnaid road at 402088. Along the pylon track, through the double gates and up the NE ridge with the deer fence on my right until the last few hundred yards, where it veers W with the summit ahead to the SSW. Frosty and still with blue skies: an oddly dream-like ascent.Nick Down111/12/2022
From Cruinn a' Bheinn. Descended NE avoiding the steep slabby sections, aiming for point 435 on the opposite side of the glen, where there appeared to be a way up avoiding backen. Straightforward grassy descent, over the stream and track, then rather harder work on the steep mostly grassy but very uneven slope. Passed in front of ie. south point 462 to the fence at the bealach, found a faint path by the fence up the steep section to the plateau, straightforward from there. Descended rough heather and grass following the fence NE to the pylons, from where an ATV track led to a gate at the edge of the plantation at 240m asl. Through the gate then easy tracks back to the plantation track entrance on the B road.Owen B24/09/2022
Easyish ascent via pylon track and NE shoulder-ground frozen but otherwise it would be wet underfoot.dave g07/03/2022
Cycled in from parking area just beyond the fine track that leads to comer farm, then a rougher track to the base of the hill, easy climb from there, be much harder with summer growth, stunning views all the way along this track of the north corries of ben lomond and over to the arrochar alps.hils12/04/2021
From Loch Arklet dam - Cruachan, Cruachan S Top, Maol a' Chapuill & Beinn Uamha then back down forest track to point 184. Very rough country - tussocks and heather - very few tracks. With M.sclater29/08/2020
Do not underestimate how hard these two hills are (including Beinn Dubh) especially with a foot of snow on them and watch out for the cliffs and rocky outcrops on Beinn Uamha.Simon Winton29/02/2020
Along track across inlet to Loch Dubh and round back of hill, past turn off To Comer; ascended Beinn Dubh then Beinn Uamha before returning by track.PaulineD13/07/2019
From a parking area at 407085. Logging track goes to a felled area at 406062 and a track leads up towards Beinn Dubh. Short section of brash then step over a fence, up to a second ruined fence, then to the top. Going to Beinn Uamha, easy descent to an ATV track leading to the pylon track. Beinn Uamha SE face is vertical bracken in summer, so NW on the vehicle track and up a stream to Bealach na-h-Imriche and up a newish fence on deer tracks, then towards the ruined fence line to the top. Down along the fence is horrid, rough, boggy, steep and many ups and downs, so down to Lochan Mhaim nan Carn to meet the pylon track. The track on Geograph is fictitious, the real track follows the pylons over a bump and peters out onto rough stuff to a gate. A rough ATV track leads down to a stripy pole and heads right onto a good track to join the upward track at a gate a short distance from the start, superseding the lost track from the double gate mentioned by others.Gill04/07/2019
From Beinn Dubh. Thus had a good view of ways up and went direct, just to L of gully, up a very steep brackeny slope, then a shallower wide grassy ramp - there's a decommissioned fence line to follow, (no crags, no exposure, so safe in descent, apart from the debris left behind in the grass). Descended NE to investigate the 'pylon track' - it was intermittent, meandering, very slippery and substantially rewilding itself - little better than the raw Ruff'n'Tuff, emerging at a double gate at about NN401088, but it is difficult to see the start from the road. Short road walk back to parking at NN407084. No sign of the mapped path ending at NN401065 and a direct descent back to my tracks up to Beinn Dubh would involve a long TR through felled areas, so, poor though it is, the PT is maybe still the best way down.Isbjorn26/06/2019
3 of 4: Parked at track signpost at 413076.ChrisR13/05/2019
From Inversnaid. Nice outcrops on the hill. Had to backtrack on the way down to Beinn Dubh as met a cliff.Alan Moore22/04/2019
From Beinn Dubh, down to cross pylon track then pick up forest track northwards to roadN.Morters02/01/2019
Some rough terrain and fierce hags from Cruachan. Outcrop looks better without the cairn.alda01/04/2018

Taken in on traverse from Cruachan to Beinn Dubh.Chris Peart18/05/2017
Easy ascent via pylon track and NE shoulder Then across to Beinn Dubh zigzagging down to avoid crags (would be tricky in mist) and up easy but boggy ground. Back via pylon track.AndrewFinnimore02/04/2017
Track from 413075. Much of the path from 410067 is covered in felling debris, but the ground still frozen from recent hard frosts so not too bad. A nice shapely hill, ascent steep but comfortable. On to Beinn Dubh.Topographer5726/11/2016
Beinn Dubh and Uamha from road to north. Parked outside gated area to pylon service space, old car park? Followed pylons track (in distinct in places) until cut onto Dubh. Back to gate in deer fence and direct line to right of summit cutting up underneath impressive crag line. Easy to contour into final summit slopes. Headed direct back to lochan avoiding the ups and downs of the deer fence. Very wet ground all over after rhe rains, four hours for the lot.nordicstar13/09/2016
A great walk up beneath the huge long crag from the bealach. Complicated ground coming down. We found a useful deer track.jenx13/09/2016
round of beinn uamha and beinn dubh anticlockwise from tracks starting at 413077.robertphillips28/02/2015
start at a tarmacked small carpark, as a track under the pylons start there. much easier to go up there. keep slightly left of the fence to avoid gullies, especially in snow as there are big up and downs. You will have to climb the fence to get to the top on the left hand side of the fence. Done the hill with Jon Metcalf, Alison Richardson and Margaret Youngtallblond28/02/2015
Followed the line of the pylons to ascend from the north east.JohnW03/06/2013
Looking for Midas with Holly and Abby. A gorgeous high cloud, light wind, sunny, day with fabulous views from Ben Lomond, round Glen Douglas hills, Arrochar and Crienlarich hills to Trossachs. Snow above 2000'. Rob Roy Carpark, Cruachan, Cruinn a Bheinn, Beinn Uamha, and back over the tops. New Deer fence needed to be jumped several times. 7 hours.alexmaclennan02/02/2013
Tough approach from Cruachan. Down to SE through bracken. Ran out of time to head on to Beinn Dubh so I took the track through Gleann Dubh instead.campagvelocet26/06/2012
