Solo - 7.15am start from Linn of Dee in the dark with icy rain, but ended up with blue skies, though 45+mph gusts at the summit were fun! Completed the route on foot, no bike this time and got back to the car at 12:45pm - giving me time to drive 3hrs home before dark.mproudfoot21/11/2020
2/3 After Sgor Mor (time is for both). Up and down tourist route. Waited 20mins for summit to clear, it did only when I was half-way down. Grey day, low cloud, showers, stiff breeze, cold. Biked out. Rounsfell10/09/2020
On way back to linn of dee from campRuth31/08/2020
Rob and I, From Cairn Toul we descended the Coire Odhar by the path the floor of the Ghru passing the Corrour Bothy crossing the river and then heading North up the river Dee surrounded by the exponential slopes of the Lairig Ghru on both sides. Reaching the path up Sron Riath we started the unremitting ascent over heather then boulders drifting left to be near the stream Alt Clair nan Taillear. There seemed no end to the boulder field which was wearing and at times unstable. We were shocked suddenly to look right and see the summit of Carn a Mhain below us. We had missed the ridge because we had drifted left to be near the stream. The alternatives were to keep climbing and leave it for another day or drop the packs and descend 300 metres to the bealach and walk the ridge as planned. We were concerned about finding the packs in the chaos of boulders but various techniques were used to remind us of their location. We set off down the slope of chaotic boulders, not my favourite tdavid.walker4009/08/2020

From Linn of Dee Car Park (NO 06310 89799). Good track to Derry Lodge, briefly soggy underfoot before another good path as far as Luibeg Bridge. Boggy path downstream until re-joining the main path. Fairly steep ascent on a very good stepped path, some excellent maintenance work on the path was being carried out at the time. Air very clear so awesome views from the top... in particular Devil's Point to Cairn Toul and Ben Macdui to Derry Cairngorm.david23020101/10/2019
Climbed with Andrew Hall, from Linn of Dee car park. The plan had been to get Ben Macdui and Derry Cairngorm, but visibilty less than 30m with rain and wind, so just up to Carn a'Mhaim summit and back.chillyman828/09/2019

second ascent (26/06/2019) and reached the correct top after missing it on a west to east traverse from Devils Point Ridge to Ben Macdui ridge - accidentally bagged southern bump and only found out when I downloaded my GPS. Makes me wonder how non-GPS users can be so sure of their ascents ;)carole engel04/06/2018
