Along track to White Bridge then after another 1.5km on path, headed up rough ground to summit, back enjoyably over Sgòr Dubh and first part of path by new fence, but path became very wet, hemmed in by fence, then after gate-stile just vanished and left a horrid heathery stretch back to the track.NorfolkPT2117/03/2024
Solo from Linn of Dee car park. West along track to just past forest and then north up another track briefly then heather bashing to an electrified deer fence and through a gate. More heather bashing NW all the way to anotehr deer fence that I followed NW to around 780m, then contoured around Sgor Dubh and then WSW to the corbett summit. Dropped south down a broad shoulder down to a track parallel with the Dee, and headed East to White Bridge, then back on the main track back to Linn of Dee. Warm but clag from 600m so no views at all. Total time 3h 43mmproudfoot07/05/2023
From Linn of Dee. Last day on a short break, took what I thought was the shortest route to the top and the fastest way back...end result was a load of heather in my boots. 3hr 55 minutes almost exactly. Great views.Jhimmy12/07/2022
2 of 4: From Carn Mor. With Karen.ChrisR11/07/2022
From Linn of Dee. Rough, heathery going from the riverside track up to the fence at 480m asl. Followed the north side of the deer fence to 670m asl. The going looked better on the other side Then aimed straight for the minor summit point 744, then easily on good ground with short heather to the main summit with fantastic views to higher snowy hills. On descent took a slightly more southerly line rejoining the deer fence at 620m asl, then leaving the fence at 540m asl and finding a much easier way down to the riverside track.Owen B20/04/2022
DR. Linn of Dee to White Bridge then Sgorr Ban. Return by Sgorr Dubh & Luibeg then Glen Lui. Corded river to Bob Scott's Bothy. A fine, sunny & mild day.Vin16/09/2021

Linn of Dee car park. West to White Bridge, then NW to first burn and then directly to the summit over decent ground. Returned same way in 5 hours. Solo.bolton02/06/2021
from Linn o Dee over Carn an ‘lc Duibhe and Sgor Dubh. Rough heather at first but soon up on grass and short heather. Very easy from there as dry underfoot today. Different story if wet I’d think. Met a couple of pairs, unexpectedly as road up and down v quiet. Sunny, cool strong breeze. All tops clear. Some snow above 1000m, none on my hill. Quiet trot back from Press nam Meirlach. Beautiful. Blue hare and plover on hill. Solo, 5hrs 40 inc stops.fast for me!niallp19/04/2021
1/3 With Cairn a’Mhaim. Biked to Glen Luibeg and approached from NE. Clear on summit, but grey day, low cloud, Bhrotain hidden. Showers. Rounsfell10/09/2020

Following standard route. Descent back to the Linn of Dee track a bit tricky through trackless deep heather. Good walk overall though.pog10027/07/2020

During a windy week in Tomintoul. Smithy set off for Carn Bhac from Inverey while I walked up past White Bridge from the Linn Of Dee as per SMC guidebook. On N bank of first burn after White Bridge, there is a very faint path which winds up generally NE to about 600m through the rough stuff before petering out. Then N over increasingly easier ground to the most brilliant summit view: central & eastern Gorms & particularly Beinn a Ghlo. This is what Corbetts were invented for! An enjoyable wander E along the plateau to Sgor Dubh & then SE picking up the new-ish deer fence. There are vehicle tracks & then a vague path next to, or right on the fence which helps with the heather. Handrailed this down to the gate mentioned by others scattering some roe deer in the trees. Got careless just 50m from track & turned an ankle in a heathery hole which did for the following days plans...NotReallyABagger12/09/2018

Lots of snow - particularly on the lower slopes - for some reason the ridge to Sgor Ding had very little snow. Hard going in places. The views today were phenomenal, clear as a bell in every direction. Came up via White Bridge and home via Sgor Dubh.tsharp04/04/2012

Staying at Muir Cottage, Cairngorm Club hut. With a fellow club member. It was very cold - 0ºC with slight falling snow which soon eased off. Walked along the road to Linn of Dee and then along track to White Bridge. From there we walked along the NE side of the River Dee along a path that had been quite nicely repaired until we came to two burns after about a mile. We followed the second one briefly and then struck up the hillside keeping to snow where possible as the snow was mostly firm. There was a very strong wind. We aimed for the summit of Sgòr Mòr. Just below the summit we climbed up a steep snow slope, kicking and cutting steps. On the summit it was not possible to stand up at times. We descended SE to go down a gully which ended on W side of a wood low down in the glen. Snow lying at all levels, but not much in the glen bottom. Temperature at summit of Sgòr Mòr estimated at -7ºC with wind speed of 70mph producing effective temperature of -27ºC taking into account wind chill.pwbellarby12/03/2005
