started at the main car park and followed the river up to glenbanchor .took the main path all the way up to grid NH 659/019 from here the main path stops and and its on to a boggy arv track which soon fades away to a straggly deer path if your lucky to find it ..just after the grouse butts marked on the 1/25k map (nh657/008) you start to climb not to steep and over dwarf heather pleasant enough going up to a small cairn on the hill top ..very windy gusty day but that just adds to the fun of the day ..coming down i headed for marked 642 on the map then heather hopped all the way down to the fence where i found a path to take me to the corner of the wood creagan na h-eighich where i joined the main track back to the car all in 4hrs with 20min spent hidden behind a boulder on the top for lunch :)mikebeattie03/10/2017

Really nice walk from car pk at end of Glen Banchor road. A direct approach from Glenballoch house to just above pt. 642m. was just fine, and quite easy underfoot (well deer-nibbled). The traverse of the mountain's S and NW ridges on wind clipped heath was very pleasant and we could appreciate the rather flowery comments- in a SMC guide!- likening the summit to a emperor's seat as the Monadh Liath appears as an impressive amphitheatre of mountains from here. Straightfoward descent using paths via Gleann Fiannrigh. With Pete, in fine weather. Less snow than you'd expect on 30 May.pwheeler30/03/2017
