Parked to the East of Lynbeg on the A9 space for a few cars and followed the track all the way to the summit, Four and half mile in Two hours. Nice leg stretcher after landing in Inverness airport that morning. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 29/03/2024 |
Carn na h-Easgainn 616m Marilyn/Graham, under largely blue skies. Up the track from the North at the couple of houses off the A9. Another S75** trig pillar, my third of the week. Back over the easterly TuMP. Bit of unexpected misshap crossing various peat channels to get to the col to the TuMP. One snow covered channel bottom wasn't firm peat but instead both legs were instantly plunged into quagmire up to above my knees. Immediate soaked boots, socks, trousers, with freezing water and initially, held fast and difficulty of extracting legs that felt like risk of losing a boot, if I wasn't careful. Had to immediately lean back across the remaining snowy bit, and gingerly ease each leg out. A good job it was benign, wind free, sunny weather, or it could've been much more unpleasant. Once sitting on a dryish bit of heather, I could ease off each wellington boot in turn, tip out loads of water peel off both saturated socks, wring them out, put them on again and continue on my way. Parked along road to Lynemore, a few hundred metres from the A9 turnoff. Up easy track to Carn na h-Easgainn then further along it to its end E of Beinn nan Cailleach. From here, a wet heather and hag hike to the top and back, the summit being close to a newly erected fence. Back over Carn na h-Easgainn then continued along track until SW of Carn na Loinne. Further heather & hag from this point until on the summit. Trods lead from the top to another moorland track, presumably built for grouse botherers, to the NE. When it started turning E we went straight down the forest fence line over heather to the A9, scaled a deer fence and walked inside the A9 safety barriers back to the starting point. 3 hours. | summitter | 10/11/2023 |

Here for the trigpoint. TP:UK log:

Up the track from Lynebeg, easy estate track. You can park at the water reservoir but I park before the cattle grid near the houses. Absolutely no view from the trig point as in cloud. However it didn't rain and it wasn't anywhere near as cold as it has been so very happy. | thejackrustles | 22/11/2019 |

With a friend. From Dalmagarry on the A9 south of Moy. Parked on a piece of old road. Went under a railway bridge and followed a track west and SW near Allt a' Chùil. We stopped at a bothy and had lunch inside. The map showed the track stopping at the bothy, although in fact it continued. However, we left the track and headed for Carn na h-Easgainn. There were peat hags so after a while we went up to and along the broad SE ridge of the hill. On the return we kept more to the ridge and again had something to eat at the bothy. We had it free of cloud, but clouds were evident on other hills. | pwbellarby | 22/12/2006 |

Ascended from layby on the A9. Followed track and then cross country. From the summit observed large construction work, including numerous lorries for what I assumed was a windfarm. I wondered how much carbon dioxide was being released in the process. | JohnW | 17/05/2005 |
Solo | HFB | 02/04/2005 |
Parked in old road lay by on A9. Under railway, bridge over stream to track. Barbed wire all round the first gate. Steady progress on track past hut to end to find that I was about a mile out of the way. Slog over soft mossy moorland down and up with many dry hags. All drudge - no RTV tracks, no paths. On ridge the hags became larger, easier walking around to left over dry peat and stone runs to top at 11.55. My 100th Graham. | arranc | 27/07/2004 |
