In contrast to yesterday, it was so windy that it was hard to stand up. At least the rain had blown through for a quick afternoon ascent. There is space for 8-10 cars at NH63802805. We came out of the CP and immediately over a broken wooden gate next to the road. Indistinct at first, the well used path becomes clearer, if still rather boggy. Passed a couple of large boulders, before reaching a massive boulder. Continue up through the heather, dodging more boggy bits, to reach the ridge line. Follow ESE through broken ground to the summit. Straight forward.geralddavison21/03/2024

Path from RSPB car park. A delightful, easy ridge walk with superb views. The main RSPB path to the Loch Ruthven is also enjoyable, leading to a tiny beach with a commemorative carved wooden bench.Nick Down107/09/2021
Followed the path from the back of the RSPB car park which goes all the way to the summit. Up and down in 65 min. Nice rocky hill. Dry; good views.dbb23/06/2021

Section after the 'big rock' was very wet and muddy - I slid most of the way down! Great views from the top.lolls01/08/2020

From the RSPB car park at NH638280. The initially grassy and well defined path starts on the 'outboard' side of the fence bounding the S side of the car park (no stile/gate). A wire fence (not BWF) 'halfway' up (above the big rock), is easily surmountable.Isbjorn27/12/2018

From the RSPB Car park at its base. Head for the BIG ROCK then path twists and turns up through the heather to the summit and trig of this rocky outcrop. A bright sunny morning, honking geese on the loch below. The river Nairn purposefully passing the other side of the hill. Return the way we came.briandavies21/04/2018

W Jenx from the RSPB reserve CP. as others taking track over the fence. Straightforward but for the ice in the path formed when it was a stream recently. Avoided in the heather alongside. Interesting rocky scrambling on ridge through snowy icy rocks. Great viewpoint then the next snow shower stormed through!nordicstar14/01/2016
Should have worn the microspikes! Nice hill but couldn't really use the path today. Loved the big boulder.jenx14/01/2016
From RSPB car park. False start at first, following path to hide, then returned, hopped over fence at back of car park and found the trodden line. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/five-that-was-surprise.htmlGayle11/05/2015
Lovely wee hill with a track all the way up from the edge of the RSPB carparkThearlaichdubh04/05/2015
Well what an adventure I made this into. Ignored instructions to look for path past big boulder and went along the loch side and then headed straight up, not a very good idea approaching madness, steep and boulder strewn very high heather meant I spent over and hour covering 500m. When I eventually met the path I was so grateful! The return journey down the path was not easy though, narrow and slippy, should have had my walking poles really!thejackrustles17/04/2015
cp narrow path to the top cracking rocky hill.robertphillips14/03/2015
Parked at Ruthven - 638281. There is a decent track through the heather to the summit, the whole walk taking just under one and a quarter hours.bolton14/02/2015

Walk up from the RSPB at loch RuthvenNozzer06/02/2014
Solo. From car park for RSBP bird reserve at Loch Ruthven. On fairly narrow path going to start of rocky part of ridge coming down NE from summit of Stac Gorm. On the way it passes an enormous boulder. Care needed on rocky bits due to sleet. Stone-built trig point lying between two rocks which are slightly higher. Two other tops of rocks a little to the NE of the trig point which vie for being the highest point. Back down same way.pwbellarby25/01/2014
