Parked at Sherrabeg. A track follows the edge of the forest through 3 gates on the west side of the burn. Under 2 hours return in reasonably clear conditions. Solo.bolton22/02/2019
Used SMC Grahams book route starting from near Sherrabeg. Showers with mist at summit, but with occasional weather windows revealing good views, especially down to Loch Laggan. Fairly distinct grassy path, becoming more vague past forest.ger30/12/2018

Bagging the trig. Parked below the marked fort near to the Spey Dam. Followed informal mountain bike tracks up to the fort. Great view. From there followed a marked path south west up on to the summit of Black Wood Hill. From here the going was much rougher and included crossing a deer fence. The Vanessa is a little way off the summit. The views were astounding. The descent was by the obvious ridge to the north to Sherrabeg and then back along the road.BigJ30/08/2017
After doing the TUMP this was very tedious but a very quick descent back to the car.Play2End30/06/2017
With Peterb from Sherrabeg. Followed a squelchy path up through young woodland which goes through two deer fences lower down which have gates that open. The last deer fence near the top required climbing as there is no gate. Easy ascent on short grassy, heathery slopes to the summit trig point. Retraced route to return.bowlesy21/05/2017
A quick up and down from Sherrabeg with Chris. Followed the stream up and through a couple of deer gates. Nearly trod on a meadow pipit that was sitting on four eggs.Peterb21/05/2017
With M, day off from cycling Corbetts. Windy. Easy way up, rough descent for round trip.douglas_easton29/04/2017

As per AD's book from Sherrabeg, cold and wet but limited views.MichaelF21/05/2016
With RRMC a beautiful day weather wise Started from Wolftrax following a forest track up to a Pictish hill fort Followed a footpath to the 565 top. Left the path to pick a route through easy forest to a deer fence. Onto open hillside and the 622 trig point. Descended to the Spey dam reservoir and out to Laggan villagemunromurph02/04/2016

Walked up from our holiday cottage Ravenswood which was located just above the old village hall and phone box at Kinlocklaggan. (Parking possible 547898). Walked through woods to pylon service track and followed this east to a gate and the open hill side. Fine Views.mindlessflogger20/12/2015

With Jenx, Martin and Brian from Feagour. Through the black wood on a deep snowy but easy to follow path. Took in the Black Craig, then to Creag Ruadh East top and then main Graham summit. Direct from col back to raod and along to car park start.nordicstar20/01/2015
Via Black Craig and the east top. A repeat visit with birthday boy Nordicstar and Jenx. Direct down to road slipping and sliding in the snow. Lovely.Martin R20/01/2015
From Sherrabeg, keep close to stream to start with vague path to avoid problems (hidden holes) of new planting. Initially missed top due to cloud but from above loch followed fence to trig point. A quick morning run up before heading home.dickscroop18/09/2014
From Sherrabeg (NN 56845 92933) following the route in Dempster's book. This involves scaling three deer fences to reach the summit. Watch out for hidden holes in plantings on NNW flank of hill. Descended via Loch na Lairige to the track in Glen Shira, and so back to Sherrabeg - a much better route, with no deer fences to climb.marktrengove14/08/2014
Solo run, from Sherrabeg. No problem with the trees (yet) from this side and a sketchy path to follow most of the way.amswanston16/04/2014
with renee followed tracks up from aberarder lodge.robertphillips24/11/2013
Revisit for trig. Other summit candidates mentioned are clearly lower - throw away that Abney ;-) From NE, then E along ridge to hill fort, then SW from saddle to regain open ground. However the N slopes have been recently planted so this route may be less feasible in future. RHW07/07/2013

Nameless hill just north of Loch Laggan road (NN 558914) S/F NN 531896 Cold day but dry, good visibility. Lots of constructiuon works to build new pylons. Lake near top frozen, accepted a lift down last bit of hill.John Young01/04/2013

Up NE ridge from Sherrabeg, return via Black Wood. Several areas were enclosed by high fences to defend ever thickening regenerate vegetation. Starting from Inverpattack would probably have been better.Topographer5705/08/2011
