Bad news. Inverchaolain Glen is new forestry, large area enclosed by a wobbly deer fence built of bendy wire. Worse still, the new trees are boring spruce at normal density but planted using holes instead of trenches. Part of Bolton's track has been wrecked in this way though still passable (for now). The good news is that there's a gate at approx. 960 768; the ATV track continues towards a big landslip, obliterated here but continues for easy walking in the sun, crunchy snow, frozen bogs, almost to Cruach nan Capull. Pleasant enough over Leacann nan Gall, but Black Craig was nasty - softening snow, thawing bogs. Descent was vile, from 111 754, to follow the outside of the fence, v. steep, climb at a strainer where it heads uphill, steep down tussocks, bogs, dead bracken, avoiding the gorse and then getting mixed up with planting holes close to the new track on the E side of the glen. Note: looks worse closer to Inverchaolain plus extra deer fence. | Gill | 06/12/2020 |

MMC walk with Fraser, Malcolm and new guy Cameron. Dry overcast day. We came up the track to Leacann na Gall and onto Cruach na Capull. Retraced our steps when we met Fraser who made it to the top. 6 hours. | alexmaclennan | 08/07/2018 |
Solo. Parked at the entrance to the churchyard at Inverchaolain. After reaching Cruach nan Capull I continued to Leacann nan Gall, going down to Green Knap and then trying to find a path shown on my OS 1:25,000 map and which goes westwards down into the glen. I didn't find the path. I joined a substantial track down the glen. This follows, for the most part, the line of a path shown on the map. It's on the west side of the burn and a little above it. It joins the track that is shown on the map. I followed the track down past Stronyaraig to the road. It was a beautiful summer day. | pwbellarby | 07/06/2018 |
