1 of 6: From the CP at Shiel Bridge campsite. With Karen.ChrisR01/06/2023
From the campsite area. Good path to the bealach and then a direst ascent. Cloud dropped as I approached the summit and a light drizzle. Well under 5 hour return. Solo.bolton27/05/2023
From campsite, good path up to E. side of Loch Coire nan Crogachan - Headed NNE & then NW to large summit cairn - Took a direct route back down to the loch; should possibly have gone up this way. Continued to the 5 Simms on Sgurr a' Gharg Gharaidh. Went over Sgurr a' Gharg Gharaidh back in 1981; this was 11 years before The Grahams was first published so no bagging list.gerrybowes26/05/2023

from Glen Shiel campsite, path to Lochanjef13/04/2023
Up and down from Glen Shiel camp site. Path to the lochan SSE of the summit, then pathless on the way up, straight down the pathless east shoulder on descent.Owen B24/06/2022
Solo from the parking area in front of the campsite car park. Pleasant (albeit humid/sweaty) walk-in along the path through Gleann Undalain, ascending up to Loch Coire nan Crogachan. Going was a bit rougher after that all the way to the summit. Bit of wind at the top took some of the edge off the morning warmth, and went over past the summit to get some views over to the West. Descent down the eastern slopes was pretty rough, and I went off-route (not that there's a good route down unless returning down the way up) wandering into a small bog that went above my gaiters (doh!). Got back down to the path back out with much relief. Great wee hill, apart from that descent though. Total time: 3h 12minmproudfoot24/06/2022
On RBS HWC Ratagan weekend. With Frances. Cloud base at 1-200 feet in morning. We set off up excellent path (Lochalsh Way) from campsite. From bealach we struck uphill shortly after being passed by a young woman hill runner. As met her again as we crested the hill into a fantastic cloud inversion with views of the Five Sisters of Kintail, The Saddle and more. We returned the same way.langskill28/08/2021
With J on a bright day via the standard SMC route. Parked at the (closed) camp site behind the (closed) Shiel Bridge fuel station & followed path easily S. Encountered some ponies, one of which trotted directly down the path at me. I gave way! At cairns just E of the loch, turned N off the path over grassy stuff straight up the slope to the summit. Mist drifted in. Descended by E slope, keeping to grass where possible which was quicker if tedious.NotReallyABagger26/05/2021

76th – With DMC. From Shiel Bridge campsite follow path alongside Allt Undalain, then continue along path to Loch Coire nan Crogachan. Picked a route up S side to gain summit. Return via outward route. Overcast day, but dry. Snow from about 550m, low visibility near summit.RGibbs31/12/2017
Parked on roadside to Ratagain (NG93251 18661). Walked east past Glenshiel Lodge turning south at campsite following footpath down Gleann Undalain to Loch Coire nan Crogachan. Leave path on east side of Loch and head straight for summit following best ridge line between outcrops. Summit marked by substantial cairn. Descent via steep ridge to the north and probably did not find best route though either pine or deciduous woods between deer fence at 500m and road at near enough sea level.Quite steep in places and almost a bushwack, but great fun.mntainman29/10/2017

On New Year trip to Shiel Lodge at Shiel Bridge with CUHWC friends. MJ and I both did this on the same day, but I left around 30 minutes after him and took the direct route up the steep ridge to the summit. We met just after I had arrived at the summit. In a 3-hour good weather window on a day of otherwise rubbish.AGWilliamson30/12/2015

I parked in the large parking area next to the campsite. No problem in mid March, but I dont know if there are any restrictions when the campsite is open. Head west through a gate on the old road and turn south before the river bridge on the obvious path that runs alongside the campsite. Through another gate and then you start to follow the obvious stalkers path. The continues down the glen until it starts to climb up to the right. At NG92501609 the path forks, keep right and head up hill following the Lochaber way marker posts. Continue to the loch above. Choose your route around the loch, I went round the west side. Then it is a simple case of going due north up steep grassy slopes, avoiding small outcrops, until you reach the east ridge of the peak, just below the summit. Turn left, west, to ascend the final few metres to the summit. Large cairn with amazing views.geralddavison25/03/2015
