From Arcabhi, good off road parking (NN 0539 9235). Hydro track to the dam, then ATV track to NN 0710 9447, after which reasonably good rough ground. On to Meall Lochan nan Dubh Lochan and return for a 12k round. | jonglew | 02/12/2023 |
From the hydro at Arcabh with CM. Track to loch than an ATV track which goes most of the way to the high point. Another sunny, cold day with great views. | bolton | 01/12/2023 |

Parked at the butterfly sanctuary. West along the loch road to just beyond the building at 105914. Brief skirmish with bracken and ferns to get to the gravel track above, would have been better to go through the cleared area by the building. Up new looking track up the left of Allt Cheanna Mhuir to the small dam at the 330m contour. Then pathlessly north west to the flat area with several lochans to reach an ATV track almost to point 532. Then easily up to the summit. | Owen B | 22/08/2023 |

Parked in large compound at start of track NN 0538 9234 (no issues). Track continues to loch - steep, rough and stony (unpleasant in descent). At end of track head NE to pick up ATV OR head NNE to ATV start by wooden bridge NN 05666 93748. ATV takes various routes but eventually settles into one line. Mostly in an ENE direction, marked by occasional wooden posts. Appeared to end NN 06790 94236.Headed NE direct to point 646 then ENE to top - easy going. ATV made for a nice walk. | carole engel | 08/05/2023 |

Parked at start of hydro road, up to Loch Blair and then Atv Track/nailed fence posts to snowline where we followed Govanah's footprints from yesterday. A superb day for self isolating. | Crumblie2 | 20/03/2020 |

Sgurr Choinnich and Meall Blair from the Butterfly Farm in fine weather. Initially up valley for about 2 km before cutting up to ridge and Sgurr Chaoinnich. Only incident was getting lace hook on boots hooked on the deer fence which produced an interesting moment. West, initially on deer fence to Meall Blair then S back to road at forest edge and 5 km along road to car. | dickscroop | 30/10/2019 |
From Sgurr Choinich across ground which was a lot drier than expected. Fine viewpoint of lots of old friends! Descent on direct line back to Butterfly reserve car park. | MichaelF | 24/09/2019 |

From the Butterfly reserve. None seen, perhaps because of the cold. Direct to Sgurr Coinnich on an ATV track almost all the way. Lovely walk, on snow towards the top, with splendid views. Down to the col and across the rough stuff to Meall Blair. The snowy summit plateau was splendid, so promenaded along the highest part to a small cairn. Easy back to the Lochan, then a nasty, never ending descent on quagmired ATV track, and a small amount of road bash, very pleasant along Loch Arkaig. Quite a strenuous walk. In answer to the queries, the nail posts are to hang up dead animals or birds. | Gill | 11/11/2017 |
Same route as ngthack. I think the nails in the posts are to prevent the deer/sheep scratching their backs on the posts and knocking them down. The new track is very helpful but a bit loose on the descent. | nicolajane | 29/10/2017 |
