4th Hill of 7 today from Millhouse green, climbing Upper Whitely Edge, Wood Royd Hill and Cheese Gate Nab befpre following Kirklees way. Easy access by footpath then easy fence to either roll under or climb over. Trig lies forlornly on the slopes. Summit is on the edge. The road signs call this Cold Hill. Parking on the road south of the summit is very limited... Perhaps a couple of well pulled-in cars only.

Trig / 300m top bagging on way to work from Sheffield to QE near York for Open Morning. Industrial heritage is all around here with many tall weavers cottages with rows of windows on top floor to let in maximum light for home weaving ( before the mills). One of the labourers in 1850 digging the rail tunnel to the north ( through this ridge of high ground that runs from Sheffield to Huddersfield) had a horrible accident and was thereafter
