An easy detour from the SDW - the trig point certainly looks the highest point and for once it's outside the mast compound so no access problems.milimana13/06/2022
A detour from a walk on the South Downs. Visited with Alma Aurea.meltdiceburg21/04/2022
Started from Bignor Hill CP and did a circle of Glatting Beacon, Farm Hill, Barlavington Down then down into Sutton through Bignor to West Burton. Up to Westburton Hill and then down to the roundabout to pick up Rewell Hill (easy approach from A284 via a cleared track). Slogged a mile up a very muddy track (thanks to some logging) and thought I should finish via Bignor Hill despite it's lack of qualification. A very enjoyable 13 miles in 4 hours 20.maltloaf21/01/2022

Solo from Bignor Hill car park. I then continued over Farm Hill and Barlavington Down which took less time than thought. Chose to then walk a circuit via St Mary church in Barlavington and round to Westburton Hill before back to Bignor Hill car park. A lovely autumnal day with no breeze and some early afternoon sunshine.Buck18/10/2020

From Bignor Hill car pk, straightforward, as others. I then continued over Farm Hill and Barlavington Down to the Duncton Quarry road, then back by field path and SDW. Barely above 2h, but a fine walk in ultra clear conditions after a wet morning.pwheeler04/09/2019

Raining and quagmire throughout a reduced 5 mile Sunday run for A famous 5 adventure with Tracey, Debs, Sue and Graham ( and little Crystal the dog) From Eartham Woods car park and back via Gumber roman road path. Great fun splashing through the mud. Sleeting higher up. Saturated - full change inside car required as expected on return. Another Sunday club run with L and Peter, 2 and half hours from Slindon over and down to Bignor in the footsteps of the Romans then lovely wood and field paths before the climb back up on forgotten footpaths to skirt the summit and back down to Slindon, our own Festival of ( slow,) Speed compared to the hordes at nearby Goodwood. We always refer to this hill as Beacon Hill and with its twin masts and central hub location provides a visual reference anchor to many of our runs on the Downs.Chris Pearson02/07/2017
