Mini-round of the 4 Gowbarrow summits from the main Aira Force car parks. Bit of an odd one - this, the highest point on the hill, is only a short distance from the very popular and clearly separated Wainwright and trig summit 100m away - standing onthis one you deal feel all the daytrippers by the trig staring across at you and wondering what you're doing at the wrong summit. Little do they know...!wheresthepath30/09/2019

Parked at start of footpath by the campsite to the NE. Lovely path. When finally leave the forest and go through the wall DONT go direct (like I did) follow the path that goes around the hill - it goes all the way to the top - bit patchy in a few places.destaylor14/04/2010

According to my recorded track on MemoryMap. However, my brain memory is not so effective as to why I went there as well as the trig. But, phew as it was only last year that I tidied up a load of Birketts all around there.Martin R20/10/2003

From Park Brow Foot via Yew Crag- a very beautiful walk through woodland and craggy bracken covered fellside. Good path, then fainter trods to the summit. Views over Ullswater are better lower down. Just 2h walking then off to meet Pete at Penrith station.pwheeler06/09/1991
