A long way from An Eiric! Solo. Descended to the west end of Loch Affric by the good stalkers path shown on map.Dangerous Dave14/08/2023
From CP at NH201234 (£3). No path up W side Allt Garbh (NH 1797 2214) - deer trods only, generally hard going thru' vegetation, improved once fence left river side (NH182211 approx.). On to Aonach Shasuinn. Out to Carn a'Choire Bhuidhe, Carn nan Coireachen, Cnap na Stri, descending NW to mapped track (NH185205). Dreading return along Allt Garbh BUT excellent path from NH118212 all way back to track at NH180223 - waymarked Path to Cougiecarole engel05/07/2023

Approach via Allt Garbh. Over An Elric to two Munro tops, then out to Carn a coire Gairbh and descent via stalkers path to Loch Affric. Another big day! With B and R.jenx18/08/2022
From Strawberry Cottage. Used Gill's Route for ascent (once I found the path which I had managed to overshoot). Descent down steep slopes to the west into the glen where I came across the Last Ent of Glen Affric (Scotland's Tree of the Year in 2019). Useful stile over the deer fence at approx NH 125 187 after which there is a wet path back to the track through Gleann na Chiche.Fife Walking26/07/2022
Carn a' Choire Ghairbh and Aonach Shasuinn from Glen Affric car park. Long hard day fighting against rain and wind. Allt Garbh very boggy. Some sunshine, but mostly rain.Jhimmy10/06/2022

WW weekend at Tomich. Walked with Elaine and Marcia - we were very slow.langskill26/03/2022
Also managed Aonach Shasuinn. Lovely walk. Saw nobody else. Even had a Golden eagle soar over for a few seconds before it headed west. Great day. Company Soloiandesbottes06/03/2022
As Gill's route. The stalkers path, about 0.25k from the gate, is a bit hidden at the start and goes east at first before turning back on itself. Hot and sunny.iangalbraith02/08/2021
From Glen Affric extreme W CP. W along road then path signposted Cougie (path marked on map does not seem to exist).Good track to near building by Loch an Sguid then ATV track & pathless to Aonach Shasuinn. An Elric, Carn a Choire Ghairbh then Carn Glas Iochdarach. Descent to near building by Loch an Sguid & retraced outward route. Good hill day - (25km, 1150m). With Bolton.ger14/07/2021

From Loch Affric parking. Excellent track along south side of Loch Affric, then up the very good stalkers path. Good ground, easy going from where the path ends.Owen B25/06/2021
Glen Affric CP (201234), Polan Buidhe, east then south bank path of Allt Garbh to mini hydro dam (182201) then Carn Glas Lochdarach, Carn a' Choire Ghairbh, Carn a@Choire Ghuirm, Loch a'Choinan, An Elrich, Aonach Shauinn, Allt Garbh path, Polan Buidhe & forest CP. Warm dry sunny periods with a light breeze.Vin18/06/2021
A good clockwise circuit from tent at foot of Alt Garbh on a very fine day. Had intended to go other way round but missed path junction so stuck with it. Worked out well because met a guy on top who warned me in advance of his struggle up through deep heather. So, first up to Creag nan Calmain (Gt); Cnap na Stri (Gt); Carn nan Coireachan Cruidh (Ct)out to Carn a Choire Bhuide (Ct); Aonach Shassuin (C); Carn a Choire Garbh (C); Carn Glass Lochdarrach (Ct); then to avpid the heather dropped down to the new track which took me round to join my outward route - a good move.dickscroop02/06/2021
From Affric. Cycled to Athnamulloch, then SW on 4x4 track for 2k. Straight up through heather (climbed over deer fence) on N bank of Allt a' Bhuilg, although line of wetter ground avoided most of leg scratching. On to 3 Munros to S afterwards.quadbarrel26/05/2021
Long circuit from car park at end of road in Glen Affric. Carn Glas Iochdarach - Carn a'Choire Ghairbh - Aonach Shasuinn - Carn nan Coireachan Cruaidh - Cnap na Stri. Bright, snow above 600m (quite deep in places) with occasional spindrift. Dark on final summit so interesting descent, although later the moon was exceptionally bright, caating strong shadows. Outstanding 360 degree views of snow-covered mountains. Nearly 11h in total.RobertP05/11/2017

A scenic and interesting route to avoid the hydro scheme under construction in the Allt Garbh. I walked to the W end of Loch Affric and then climbed the zig zag stalkers path which climbs rather improbably but cleverly up the steep hillside. Although a bit boggy, it gives truly awesome and spectacular views of Glen Affric and the surrounding Munros. This route is way more pleasant than the bog slog up the Allt Garbh, more or less the same distance and much better scenery. The top of the hill has a multiplicity of small sub-ridges to cross on the way to the top.Gill01/11/2016
Long drizzling and blustery ridgewalk from the Glen Affric carpark. Tops clear of cloud.alexmaclennan21/06/2016

Glorious walk on a perfect day from road end in Affric with J. Along the glen then on track S following Allt Garbh leaving it to climb curving NW ridge of Aonach Shasuinn. Then over An Elric trending NW to col at Cadha Riabhach - a very atmospheric spot surrounded by high snow capped Munros. Up over Carn a' Choire Ghairbh, along to col dropping diagonally to rejoin outward path. Recommended!NotReallyABagger14/05/2015

Wonderful walk on Corbett pair from Glen Affric, staying near Cannich.douglas_easton29/06/2010
From the RE in Glen Affric. The path shown on the map tended to disappear in thick heather then went through lots of gloomy hollows after Na Cnapain. These Corbetts are between-and well below bigger mountains- and perhaps understandably- seem a bit neglected by walkerspwheeler29/05/2010
MC JC With Aonach Shasuinn. Third day on the hill. Very wet underfoot. From G. Affric. Path up Allt Garbh no longer appears to cross the burn with new plantation in place. Rising traverse to Carn a'Choire Ghairbh across hillside. Rather undistinguished hill. Good view however to Sail Chaorainn. Nice traverse round to An Elric in sunny conditions with great views to Affric peaks. Plenty of ptarmigan, spiders and lizards. Steep climb back to Aonach Shasuinn. Descended SE ridge, the N into corrie. Rough. 8.5h round trip.Martin6602/05/2010
