Glenfinnan - Corryhully - Druim Coire a' Bheithe - Sgurr Thuilm - Sgurr Thuilm W Top - Beinn Gharbh E Top - Beinn Gharbh - Meall an Tarmachain - Sgurr nan Coireachan - Sgurr a’ Choire Riabhaich - Corryhully - Torr a’ Choit - Glenfinnan: 16.2 miles, 1590m ascent, 9h 30m. What a superb little hill this last one was - the kind that make you glad to be a Tump bagger. The path to the viewpoint gets you part of the way, then some interesting route-finding on narrow paths through the bracken and rocks. A wonderful view of the monument and viaduct from the top. | Mark Jackson | 23/07/2023 |
Enjoyable amble up from the NTS car park. Up viewpoint path, then directly up muddy path and around to summit bump. Up the S side with a few easy scramble bits, down the easier NE side. Boggy in places - thankful for the wellies. | PGCE | 26/03/2023 |
Up the viewpoint path and left before the end for an amusing ascent with scrambling to a good viewpoint. Managed to avoid the boggy stuff. Later enjoyed a boat trip on Loch Shiel | fasgadh | 09/07/2022 |
Went of the beaten track a bit to get out the way of the crowds to see the viaduct | Lauralj84 | 05/06/2022 |
We walked the Viaduct Path from Glenfinnan station, and after a cooling ice cream at the NTS VC, followed the path up to this wee hill. Several hundred others had the same plan, and it was only when we got to the top did we realise that the Hogwarts Express was passing through. A magical time was had by all. | summitter | 05/06/2022 |
From the national Trust for Scotland visitor centre at Glenfinnan Monument a very well made up path lead up the hill which I had initially hoped would be to the summit but it's only about 30 m up to a viewing point for the Glenfinnan Viaduct and the rather muddy Quagmire path continues on there a further 65m up to the summit of the Hill eventually which required wellingtons which fortunately I was wearing.
One for John Lennon's 81st birthday. | vegibagger | 09/10/2021 |
From community car park. From viewpoint SE then N to the top. Back N and SW much easier. | chrisbien | 21/09/2021 |
Nice little bonus after a Simm, also the Mon has a cut BM L of door, sunny views today, all for £3.50 P (NTS) | RHW | 02/05/2021 |
Climbed on a very rainy day with Campbell and Barbara Singer. Very boggy. | KareenR | 23/10/2018 |
Up from the Visitor Centre. Track beyond viewpoint was an absolute bog. Mixture of thick mud and thin mud. Awful. Great viewpoint even on a dreadful day. With Kareen. | Campbell Singer | 23/10/2018 |
Like Gordon, amused to see the crowds at the viewpoint but I was the only one who went any further - probably too much squelchiness for their fancy shoes | Colin Crawford | 15/04/2016 |
Nice little top. Straight up from left of Visitor centre. Rough track winds round crags. Descended back to Rock above the centre with new track filled with bus loads of tourists. | GordonAdshead | 03/04/2015 |
