From parking at Grotaig. Well marked, attractive, easy going hill walkers path all the way. Despite considerable overnight rain the terrain was still very dry after an otherwise long dry spell. Cloud base at 650m so didn't get the full views.Owen B19/06/2023

Along the tourist path from Grotaig Car Park. A popular 'non-hillwalkers walk' given the numbers I met while descending. Path very boggy in places.benalder28413/11/2022
From Grotaig parking (NH490238), followed signed 'hill path' to Meall Fuar-mhonaidh NE ridge, continued along track to summit, descended steeply to NW, around head of Loch nam Breac Dearga, ascended Glas-bheinn Mhòr to summit by threading through knolls, descended E then N, following stream NE on W side of Mac a' Mhill, continuing NE to meet outward track at about NH474236, return to start (5h25m)kdbennett22/07/2022
Meall Fuar-mhonaidh and on to Glas-bheinn Mhor from Balbeg road end car park. Well signed and good path up to deer fence then continuing o a decent path to the first summit. Pathless after that but only problem was finding way down of the ridge - which is some fair way after the summit. From then on pathless also but no problems. Thought I I had found an ancient coin near the style on the way down but turned out after cleaning to be a 2p piece!dickscroop14/04/2022
Personally would not do again. Ok views over Loch Ness but badly eroded path, and numerous people out on it. Not a mountain to do if you are looking for solitude! Company: Mrs D accompanied me to 600m, then waited whilst I nipped up rest of way.iandesbottes07/03/2022
Tourist path from Balbeg. Over stile at deer fence and straight up ridge. Nice lower down, whiteout on top.iangalbraith10/02/2022

Up the tourist route past a sign saying stick to the path 01/07 - 15/2 Aye right. Very fine day and big views. Return by Nighean Mhill and Glas-bheinn Bheag accompanied by many fliesfasgadh01/09/2021
Along the tourist path from Grotaig. One for a fine day: the views all along the summit ridge are superb. It was a relatively bite-free experience despite the still conditions: the midges must have sated themselves on Summitter yesterday....Nick Down129/08/2021
Pleasant walk through the woods and moorland along a decent path from Grotaig to Meall Fuar-mhonaidh, then Oh the Flies! Descended steeply to Nighean a'Mhill and Mac a'Mhill before a longer stretch over pathless ground to Glas-bheinn Bheag - collecting an ever increasing number of flies, clegs and midges as the sun climbed higher and hotter in breathless air. Nevertheless, we pushed on to Glas-bheinn Mhor's East Top and main summit. Unable to stop to admire the view due to the bugs clouding our heads we bee-lined to the NE shore of Loch nam Breac Dearga and up a grassy gully back on to the footpath down to Grotaig. Several cold drinks later in the Pottery cafe revived our flagging bodies. 5hrs total.summitter28/08/2021

Path from Grotaig. Continued over Meall Fuar- mhonaidh to Glas-bheinn Mhor as per SMC Graham guide book. Glas-bheinn Bheag and Mac a Mhill included in return trip.sarahk25/04/2021
From Grotaig as pr SMC Guide, then to Glas Bheinn Mhor.IanHHill23/09/2020
Cracking walk up to this superb viewpoint starting as most people from Grotaig. Instead of returning the same way we followed the ridge and came down to the loch following its NW shore to a faint footpath which took us via deer tracks back to the original route up the hill. We descended back to the car from hereWayne Mac09/08/2020
MC JC O From Grotaig up well worn path. Pleasant hill and no wind. To Glas Bheinn Mhor. Dropped down through western cliffs to lich edge and followed trackless wet ground to summit. Direct line to loch on return, to pebble beach and rejoined upward route via steep green gulley.Martin6601/08/2020
From Grotaig carpark, follow signs for hillpath, up ridge way is pretty obvious to summit. 5km 1hr 50 mins, then off back ridge, then back to meet the end of the loch then head in a relatively straight line to Glas Bheinn Mhor, as per the Grahams book. However this gave 8km to 2nd summit where I clocked 9.3km. A few deer tracks were found but other than that a bit rough under foot. From top of Glas bheinn Mhor took a fairly direct line to end of lake, again a bit rough underfoot and up to meet path on the ascent ridge. Grahams book says 14km round trip on 2 Garmin devices I got 16.6km, 5hrs 30 walking time, but im not fast on rough stuff.JulieB31/07/2020

5.7 mile there and back walk up tourist path from car park, in sun/high cloud. The trail is very easy to follow and very nice through proper woodland at bottom then climbs up onto the hill itself, some areas that would usually be boggy are completely dry at the minute so made for easy walking, up to the summit, one of the best views we have had in the Highlands and the mountain is only 699m!DanTrig12/06/2018

Solo. From car park at Grotaig along signposted hill path to Meall Fuar-mhonaidh. Rather muddy in parts. There are three tops, all with cairns on them. Highest one is the one furthest west. Returned same way. Nice day with just a few drops of rain and excellent visibility.pwbellarby21/10/2017

With J from the car park at Grotaig following the path up to the motorway which leads all the way to the summit of Meall Fuar-mhonaidh for a fine view. Continued SW to the point where the ground above the loch becomes shallower in gradient & then down & straight across to Glas-bheinn Mhor. Headed E round the N tip of Loch nam Breac Dearga over roughish ground & then a slanting ascent back up the slope to rejoin the outward route. I was tired enough but J had done a morning of horse riding beforehand!NotReallyABagger12/05/2015
First of year. Tourist path. However icy and very windy. Large party in front of ms turned back. Foolhardy me kept going. Nice top and then carried on to t'other Marilyn.Martin R02/01/2015

From the car park next to the pottery. Very easy route up a good path. In the clag so no views.bowlesy30/08/2013
From the car park at the road head. Beautiful clear day with fantastic views down the Great Glen. Jets flying down the glen below up added to the day. Also say a rare fog bow as we emerged out of the valley fog (like a rain bow but white).mindlessflogger24/12/2012

Easy walk from (and parking at) Balbeg. Stayed at a B&B in 2014 where they'd never done a proper hillwalk and asked for advice. I suggested this hill- easy but yes a hillwalk for sure and iconic (I think this is acceptable usage!) views of the Highlands. This hill stands out in the view from Chanonry Point- that says a lot in its favour.pwheeler28/05/2010
