As per SMC guide except started from lay-by 300m W of entrance to Wind Farm. Tracks to near Lochan Liath, then walked via Carn na Caorach. Afterwards, back to track and on to Meall a' Chrathaich via Wind Farm roads. Returned by route of ascent. | benalder284 | 07/01/2024 |
Solo from Blaraidh, Glen Moriston, through windfarm. Snowy, cold conditions with drifting snow just towards the top of the peak. You can park at the end of the private road 380165 IF you have a small car like me. Otherwise, you may have to walk a short distance along the main road by parking somewhere else. Head up to Loch Liath, all on tracks. You can cross at the dam by going above the outflow. There is an extra track at 341204, which conveniently joins up the estate track to the next loch with the windfarm tracks. Only the last little bit of the walk is off track, a short and easy ascent to the trig. Return the same way. | DampandDusty | 31/12/2023 |
Cycled in from Corrimony as far as junction where track splits to wind farm. Continued on foot up track to Loch ma Stac and the Old Shooting Lodge which has scaffold up around it. Easy climb from there to MaC WT before dropping down to wind turbine then eaasy climb up SW slope of MaC to top. 2 of 4 from Corrimony | Jossker | 11/11/2023 |
With Laura, Oscar, David and John. Windfarm tracks to with half a kilometre of summit. Very windy, rain on the descent | PeteF | 20/09/2023 |
Parked opposite quarry entrance 600m west of Bhlaraidh. Up through Bhlaraidh, then wind turbine tracks to 372220. Then mostly grassy and up to the summit ridge. | Owen B | 24/08/2023 |

Parked by the ford at Corrimony, then track along river, across bridge and RSPB path along river, very pleasant, to rejoin track up to Corrimony wind farm. Left fork by windfarm gate leads to small hydro scheme, then rough track continues, resurfaced in places, to Loch na Stac and the tower, under repair. A long walk in for a very short walk up the hill; dry underfoot and deer tracks gave easy going. This route minimises your exposure to the massive and hideous Bhlaraidh wind farm, though I've no idea why permission was given for a turbine on the bealach. RSPB reserve no better than anywhere else around here for wildlife, perhaps unsurprising given the evident RSPB collusion with industrialisation of the land here. SMC guidebook out of date, as ever. You would be able to cycle much further than indicated on the wind farm track. And their mis-spelling of Loch na Stac probably less excusable than the OS's. | Gill | 22/04/2022 |
From tent just below Loch Liath. Meall a Chrataich with its West and East tops; Carn na Ruighe Duibhe after going its North top first then back to Carn Tarsuinn and windfarm tracks all the way back to the tent. | dickscroop | 16/04/2022 |
Walked up from Corriemony. Loads of birds in RSPB managed to spot 2 Greater Spotted Woodpeckers. Windfarms detract from remoteness of hill. Slog fest to get to Suidhe Ghuirmain. Loch ma Stac house got scaffolding around it. Rotten inside. Company: Solo | iandesbottes | 17/03/2022 |
As per SMC guide, except that I used the new Wind Farm tracks to cycle from Lochan Liath to a point between the main and west tops of this hill [Turbine 13] and walked the last bit from there. Followed the EXIT signs back down - exhilarating descent, but beware: it goes up again in 2 places. | IanHHill | 10/07/2021 |
Loop from Blaraidh using tracks to base of S ridge of Carn Tarsuinn, climbed to summit of Carn Tarsuinn, then traverse to Meall nan Oighreagan, Meall a'Chrathaich E Top, Meall a'Charathaich, Meall a'Chrathaich W Top. Joined track to Loch Liath then climb E ridge of Carn na Caorach, continue to Carn Mhic an Toisich and finally Carn nan Earb. Descent E to reach track heading SE and joining ascent route. | RobertP | 29/05/2021 |
3 of 7: From the west top. Good timing as earlier cloud had lifted. With Karen. | ChrisR | 20/05/2021 |
Parked opposite quarry just west of Bhlaraidh. Cycled back to t junction and then north to final turbine at 372220. Walked this and the 2 east tops. | iangalbraith | 07/05/2021 |
Parking at Corrimony by the Ford at NH379304. A good track can be cycled to NH352245 where there is a small dam. Currently the track is dire after that but looks like it might be developed. A loop of the 5 Simms and some some sub Simms can then be undertaken. Saw a golden eagle! | BaggerGutt | 20/10/2020 |

Parked by the Bridge in Corrimony, followed the track past the burial ground and over the next bridge, took the path along the river signposted to Loch na stac then joined track. Different maps have different tracks marked on and off, but there is a good track all the way to Loch an Stac, past a new widfarm. Cut off just before Loch an Stac to head straight for summit, ground not as boggy as expected. 11km / 3hrs walking + photo stops etc to summit. Back the same way 22km / 13.4 miles round trip. There is a new windfarm on the south side of Meall a Crathaic, very near to the summit, with a good track all the way up, so it may be worth investigating if this is a quicker route. Deefinitely gets you nearer to the summit on a track. | JulieB | 29/07/2020 |
Parked at Bhlàraidh on verge near bridge at end of Armco barrier, then up forest track and subsequent windfarm tracks to north-east of Loch a Chrathaich, then over east top and to summit. Returned to east side via a few tumps. Moor vista spoiled by turbine farm. Saw virtually no wildlife but local told me that the multiple lochs have not had many wildfowl for over 20 years. | willyross | 20/05/2020 |

From Bhlaraidh via the windfarm | Peterb | 11/03/2018 |
Followed traditional route via loch liath. Just before loch ma stac cut across to new windfarm road which now terminates on the bealach between the graham and it's western top. Huge project ongoing at moment (35 turbines being erected). Descended via loch a chrathaich and picked up the wind farm motorway. | Crumblie2 | 08/04/2017 |
From the south at Blaraidh. Much windfarm work ongoing. Old track still usable for most of the way. Cycles useful. Pretty boggy off the track. | jenx | 12/08/2016 |
From Bhlaraidh w Jenx. Cycled/pushed up the first steep 200m then once the turbine track has been left the old track is cyclable all the way to lochan na stac. Boggy vehicle tracks/terrain to spur of the Graham top then easy through to summit. On to Mhic an Toisich. Bikes gave a fast descent afterwards and a riund trip of tge two Grahams and tops in 6 hrs. | nordicstar | 12/08/2016 |
Cycled in from Biaraidh to Loch ma Stac. Wonderfully desolate area about to be ravaged by a windfarm. | Campbell Singer | 01/05/2016 |

Asended from Bhlaridh in Glen Moriston to the Loch, were unable to cross the stream due to water being release out of the dam. good views all round. A love remote hill | Nozzer | 25/11/2014 |
Lovely climb out of Glen Moriston through freezing mist and into sunshine. Anti-clockwise around Loch a'Chrathaich to reach the summit. Definitely a hill for the connoisseur. | BigJ | 25/11/2014 |

Date uncertain. Photos may yield a date. Mountain biked in. Think it was probably the day after the XXL Kinlocheil Bunkhouse weekend (17-19th August 2012), so probably the 21st. | tallscottishguy | 21/08/2012 |

From Meall a'Chrathaich West Top. Then round east side of Loch a'Chrathaich to hydro road and down it to the A889. | Alan Moore | 13/03/2009 |
Trig revisit. Nice summit, fine view, surrounded by shapely lochans. 18 mile 3 trig circuit with S7731 and S8176 from Shenval. | RHW | 27/12/2008 |
from west top. Line of rusted fence posts. Down and up to top at 14.45. This was 4' lower than Toisich - after all that effort. Rustic trig with no built in FB. 8 3/4 hrs to car. Disturbed a deer in hidden hole complete with water pool. | arranc | 07/06/2007 |
