Lurg Mhor, Meall Mor and Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich after a very midgy wild camp above Loch Calavie | Geoff Briggs | 06/08/2023 |
From Pollan Buidhe. | Peterb | 25/05/2023 |
2/2 ...headed down east ridge (less snow here) then steady rocky ascent to Lurg Mhor. Dark when I made the summit. Clear. Cold. Silent. Made way off summit and over to Sail Riabhach then step descend and river crossing to overnight in (busy) Bearneas bothy - my apologies to the guys I woke up | wychwood | 20/03/2022 |
Solo round of Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich and Lurg Mhor from Attadale - cycled in around 8.5 miles - past the lodge and the bridge over Allt Coire na Sorna, leaving the bike half-way between the bridge and the bottom of the descent route off Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich. Total ride/walk-in time was around 1h 40min. Did the anti-clockwise walk over to Loch Calavie, then up to the bealach between the munros. Ascended Lurg Mhor first - unfortunately into the clag above 800m, so no views to be had. Tapped the cairn, returned back down to the bealach, then started the ascent up Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich - again noo views so didn't stop for more than a minute. Returned via Sàil Riabhach and descended from there cutting across to where i had left the bike. Got back to the bike in around 4.5 hours after leaving it. Ride back out to Attacdale was a bit shorter - 1h 15min. Total time car-to-car was 7h 23min. | mproudfoot | 13/11/2021 |
Cycled in from Attadale to Loch Calavie, 2 hours. Then climbed the Bidean followed by Lurg Mhor. Wonderfully isolated, only saw the 2 road men and an e-biker heading off to Pait Lodge. The arete to the subsidiary summit looks tasty. Descended to the Loch, 4.25 hours, and biked back, 90 minutes. | Rob Rees | 15/07/2021 |
from top to east - easily missed out difficult link by descending south on grass, returning to ridge at
Lurgh Mhor itself - nothing remotely difficult | carole engel | 07/07/2021 |

Walked into Bendronaig Lodge the night before and spent the evening with Capt Malbec and his friends. Long walk past Loch Calavie to the Allt a Ghraigh-fhear then up the grassy ridge to Meall Mor. Bypassed the pinnacles by descending south then back up Lurg Mhor's south ridge to the cairn. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 19/05/2019 |
From Attadale to Bendronaig Bothy by bike with three companions. Overnight then up early for the good weather in the morning, both Munros then back to bothy for bacon rolls and a lazy fester in front of the stove. Back to Attadale by bike next morning - a lot faster going downhill! | Capt Malbec | 18/05/2019 |
Back to Loch Monar: 4 of us walked in from Attadale to Beinndronaig Bothy, dumped our bags then walked up Bidein a' Choire Sheasgaich & Lurg Mhor before returning to stay in the Bothy for the night (29.1km/1606m ascent). An early rise and 12.2km walk later we were back in Attadale for 9am, shattered. A stunning, remote area and two brilliant Munros with superb views. | Chris Mac | 26/04/2019 |

Cycled in on Friday and stayed overnight at Bendronaig bothy - very well appointed even had a loo.
After a whisky fuelled evening enjoyed 6 hours in the rain bagging these 2 remote ones. No views to be had and had
waterproofs on all day - can't remember the last time I'd had to do that.
