Left bike at track junction at approx 131195 then up mainly pathless grass. | duchally | 21/07/2022 |
Rote via Accurrach Farm. Grassy ascent S from point where 'new' track joins track from power station to E.A fine two ridge hill - summit tor on S ridge & trig on N ridge. VG summit views. | ger | 23/07/2021 |
From A819 via Accurrach Farm to water intake at 130195 on track using bike, then south to trig. point and summit. | Winterfloodian | 05/06/2021 |
Unlikely I went to the highest point on the first visit | alda | 01/03/2021 |
As others from the Accurrach Farm track then over moorland to various tops. | N.Morters | 16/04/2019 |
1 of 4: From A819 at start of Accurach Farm track: 101197. TP 1st then cairn (which seemed to be HP). | ChrisR | 28/03/2019 |
From A819, via Accurach Farm and along track extension described by others - S side of track is newly deer-fenced, gate offered access - error - as this meant climbing another deer fence higher up, above which a vague wet ATV track meandered about, but made upward progress until petered out, so then struck direct for summit. Headed due N from summit, met E end of the newly deer-fenced area and a T-junction of the extension track with the older hydro track at NN 130195, where there was the only pole seen all day, bearing a 'private road' sign (no marker poles seen anywhere on the hill, above the track) and the start of an ATV track (probably the same one I encountered above the deer fence). | Isbjorn | 12/02/2019 |
Solo. From start of track from A819 road to Accurrach Farm. Along track to and beyond the farm. Followed an ATV track S to vicinity of summit of Beinn Ghlas. There are poles at the start of the ATV track and at intervals in its lower section. Higher up it is not always easy to follow so it was a matter of lose it and find it. Duly stood on the top of the rock that is the highest point as well as visiting the trig and cairn. Continued to Moal Accurrach. A warm and sunny day with excellent views of Beinn Cruachan. | pwbellarby | 24/06/2018 |
A nice walk on the track past Accurrach Farm, which goes much further along the river than shown on the map. Fine views of Beinn Cruachan. Up a very soggy ATV track (look for the marker post up the hill a bit), with several false summits. Off piste to the trig and then the cairn. Great views of Lochan Shira, Ben Lui, Beinn Bhuidhe from the top, which make up for the bogfest. | Gill | 29/03/2018 |
From bridge on A819. | Chris Peart | 15/05/2017 |

Solo from Glen Shira | HFB | 15/04/2017 |
Good parking at bridge at 093179. Took more or less direct line E to summit but not recommended due to new plantings, and generally rough ground, though improving nearer the top. Found an ATV track which helped for a while. One deer fence to climb. Summit has 3 distinct mini tops, one with TP, one with large cairn and one (SW) with nothing. Best to play safe and visit all 3. Back same way. S/F Acccurrach looks preferable. | AndrewFinnimore | 01/03/2017 |
Great day, via the farm, snow, ice, clear, sunny and calm. Breathtaking views, definitely God's country. | iangalbraith | 24/11/2016 |
Good track to farm at Accurach has been extended out to join marked track at GR 13108 19543. Burn lines and animal tracks easily to summit. Trig and cairns. Mists rolling in. | nordicstar | 21/08/2016 |
This was a better hill than expected. Friendly farmer Donald has extended track to the east which makes for rasy walking though a bit further than going direct. | jenx | 21/08/2016 |
from the west A819 parked at bridge. | robertphillips | 10/08/2016 |
From forestry road off the A819 in Glen Aray at NN 09009 13017 | Alan Moore | 25/04/2016 |
Left bicycle just west of Accurach Farm, long and rough ascent. Continued due north and found that the track now continues east of the farm. If I had known that when I left my bicycle the ascent would have been easier. | Topographer57 | 09/09/2015 |
Bike via Glen Shirra. Nice.. | hils | 17/06/2015 |
MC. From A819. | Martin66 | 28/05/2011 |
Revisit. Nice rock & grass summit. From 089129, bridge by house, layby just to S. Forest road N to 102157, boggy rides to exit forest at 117172, direct to summit. Returned via Stuc Scarden. | RHW | 25/09/2009 |
On my Mull of Kintyre to Fraserburgh walk | BLACKHILL | 09/05/2007 |
From Accurach Farm. On farm access road out of forest to open moor. 6 or 7 cross ridges made for a lot of downs as well as ups and heavy going. Crossed deer fence by a wobbly wooden section. 100' steep scramble up heather ridge only revealed more rolling ridges higher than previous ones. Long mile to top at 14.15. 1p coin on top of column 8815. I left 5p as well. Large pile of stones on next ridge appeared to be the highest point. | arranc | 30/03/2006 |
Cycled from Inveraray up Glen Shira to Lochan Sron Mor, up and down over Tom a' Phiobaire to Beinn Bhuidhe, then out and back to Beinn Ghlas | Gallovidian | 16/06/2003 |
