Evening ascent from visit to Moal-bhuidhe bothy. River easy to cross as water very low.sarahk10/05/2023
From Attadale Gardens. Long walk to Bendronaig Lodge, then straight up. Steep, pathless, hard work. Emerged near the col Briste na Beinne. Then easy to the summit, although the whole area is bumpy and lumpy. Returned over Carn Poll-eisg, emerging at the bridge for the long plod back.Owen B20/06/2022
From Bendronaig Lodge, via stalkers path up east ridge and back down to the Lodge and walk out to Attadale. Dry weather until late afternoon.Jon F15/06/2022
From Attadale, via bothy, then followed the path to the col and the steep slopes above. A few short showers but mostly dry. Stayed overnight at the bothy (very good) and returned the next morning. The hydro track from Attadale is very good going - in retrospect cycling might have been easier though there are several kilometres of steep uphill on the way.douglas_easton19/05/2022
Not the usual route - from Iron Lodge where I had been doing other things, butweasy enough all the way. Then back to Maol Buidhe bothey (not available in stalking season), and east onn an almost non existent and often boggy path to close to An Cruachan to bivi. Terrible night with midges!dickscroop25/08/2021
Biked to the lodge, best route probably east and slightly south from there, then the grind up steeper slopes. Warm and sunny.iangalbraith27/05/2021

Attadale estate track to Ben Dronaig Lodge then SE past waterfalls & minor ridges directly to summit. Return by same route. Cold damp day after torrential rain & cloud base at 600m but a interesting & worthwhile day. A long walk due to temporary lack of MTB.Vin14/09/2020
Cycled from Attadale to bothy, I would have preferred the old track and used it where it still exists, but it is a credit to the estate that the bothy is both open to the public and in good condition. Took in CDM on the way back.Topographer5727/06/2019

Walked in and out from Attadale. The track has been 'improved' as a result of run of river hydro scheme at the old bridge before the lodge. New track also heads down towards Glen Ling. Started bright and crisp but had showers for much of the time on the actual hill.benalder28411/11/2018
From Attadale, 19 miles there and b.BLACKHILL27/05/2018
From Attadale using new hydro track and then straight up opposite bothy. Drizzle, low cloud with intermittent views of Lurg Mhor, Cheesecake and Loch Monar. Persistent rain on return. 8hrs.MichaelF10/09/2017
Sunny ascent cycling in from Attadale with Tom Oldham and Russell. 9 hours.alexmaclennan06/05/2017

Climbed from Achintee along the truly excellent stalkers path towards Ben Dronaig lodge. I climbed the west ridge direct from the bridge, which is a tad steep. Despite glorious sunshine on the walk in and the walk out, I got rain and thick mist on the top. The navigation across the plateau is almost as hard as Bleaklow but not quite. Luckily, I did get some views from the trig, and it was mainly clear on the way down. I noted a Morgan Sindall van sniffing around the lodge and markers laid out across the moor. Does this mean a hydro scheme is in the offing?Gill22/06/2016

From Achintee in a day. This route follows a clearly marked track but the reality is that it is very wet. Climbed in the mist and drizzle.bowlesy27/08/2013

W Jenx on backpac thru from Attadale to Morvich. Track to Ben Dronaig bothy, then round by Loch Calavie and fun thin wire bridge to gain stakers path to East ridge and ascent to summit, in good Aug weather but increasing showers and fine rainbow over Lurg Mhor. Descent to Maol Bhuidhe bothy via interesting submerged stone steps!nordicstar25/08/2012

Revisit. A bit overshadowed by surrounding Munros but a lovely walk to a fine hill (I went straight up W ridge from bridge). 06:30 start to beat the heat, 7h circuit including the Yeaman Meall Ruadh on the way back. The real marathon then began - the afternoon / night drive back to Peterborough. Cracking 13 trig weekend - we should have royal weddings more often!RHW02/05/2011

Long walk from Attadale, on quite a misty day. Looked in Ben Dronaig bothy, quite posh but no-one there, then continued along track to a steep ascent of hill from N. Returned along W ridge.Aye Jimmy27/08/2006
As part of a multi-day trip based at Meall Bhuidhe bothy. Climbed from Bendronaig Lodge with JC and DC. Left bikes at the lodge.Martin6629/07/2006
Day 1 of a weekend trip based at Maol-bhuidhe bothy with Martin66 & JC. Still hungover from Caley Sleeper bar shenanigans, set off on path from Achintee while other two took bikes from Attadale along track to Bendronaig Lodge. Ascended NW slopes of Ben Dronaig with full packs for good view with hint of drizzle in air. Descended directly towards the bothy fording the river easily which was fairly low.NotReallyABagger29/07/2006

Parked at Attadale. On bicycle on tarmac which ended at Strathan. Thplan was to get to Dronaig Lodge but in reality this is a 4 mile uphill to 1150' and then down to 700'. After 2 miles gave up the idea and left bike and continued on foot. On track to top of pass and first sighting of Lodge. A ghillie in a 4WD asked me if I would like a lift, which I declined. Another man caught up with me on a bike and we walked together for rest of day. He was Wolf Gruellich from Edinburgh making his 4th attempt on the hill. Left his bike at the Lodge at 11.30. Amusing porcelain toilet with a drop to soil instead of water in the bend. Up to bealach and over deer grass, dodging rock cliffs on zig zags to false horizon and then to top at 13.45. On watershed.Loch Calavie, Sheasgaich, Lurg Mhor. Loch Monar, Riabhachan, An Cruachan, A Buidhe, Ceathreamhnam. Faochaig, D Mhor, Cuillin, Red Cuillin, B Bhan, Ruadh-Stac, S Ruadh, Liath Mhor, Eighe and Teailach. Got lift from ghillie for 4 1/4 miles back to bikarranc14/07/2006

From Attadale, taking turns with a friend on a cycle, up track to Bendronaig Lodge. I walked along path past Loch Calavie and then on the stalker’s path round the SE end of the loch and towards the summit of Beinn Dronaig. I followed the ridge when the path ran out, to reach the summit. Descended at first westwards and then straight down to Bendronaig Lodge. Shared cycle on the way back, but the cycle broke down not far from Attadale.pwbellarby08/05/1994
