Hot day. Biked to Iron Lodge with Dangerous Dave and John Rogerson trailing behind. Steep climb up the SW ridge and then a descent to the bealach directly west were we decided it was too hot to attempt Faochaig. Followed the good track south to Iron Lodge. 22 miles in 7 and a quarter hours.bolton18/07/2022
Parked at Camas-luinie. Muddy track then path to Coille-righ, then a long but easy walk on the track all the way past Iron Lodge and over the stream. Initially steeply up the south shoulder, then easing, grassy, no problems. Cloud base at 720m asl.Owen B19/06/2022

Long walk up the glen from Camas Luinne; made reasonable time despite the forecast storm arriving earlier than expected and battering us with rain and then snow on the steep ascent up Aonach Buidhe, then all the way back down the glen . 30km round tripRockdoctor03/05/2021
Killilan to iron lodge on the bike and then up the SW slopes onto summit. Cracking day for it!Matt290103/04/2021
A long walk from Killilan with winter gear - must confess I was glad to get my boots off at the end of this one!benalder28416/11/2019
Cycled from Killilan to Carnach then round of Faochaig and Aonach Buidhe. Ascended west face, steep at first but plenty of steps. Down south ridge to path to an unlocked Iron Lodge, which someone appears to have converted to a high standard but then sadly abandoned, quality carpets are now covered in thick dust and animal poo.Topographer5726/06/2019
Long overnight route from Killilan. Left 10.20am, walked past Iron lodge then up SSW ridge of Aonach Buidhe to summit, detoured to top approx 400m to W,then return to summit and followed NE ridge to An Creachal Beag and Aonach Cas. Descent off ridge ENE usings stalkers path then across stream and ascent to the very remote An Cruachan - good views as for the rest of the day. Descent SSW back down to glen and followed path to S end of Loch Mhoicean. From here took fairly direct route to summit of Carn na Breabaig 10.20pm, pitched tent. Woke up to bright sunshine and outstanding views to the Affric mountains with cloud in the glens. Descended WSW to Iron Lodge and long walk back to car.RobertP04/07/2017

From Reidh Leum na Feithe, after climbing Faochaig. There's a steep grassed up scree slope running up above a wall, and this gives very easy going onto the upper slopes. Down followed the same slopes further to the east, and onto Jason and the Argocats track (cairned), which is very ugly lower down. Then on the main track back to my bike at Carnach. The walk over Faochaig and Aonach Buidhe is either on paths or amazingly easy, dry grassy ground, allowing fast progress, whilst fully appreciating the stunning views when the mist permitted.Gill21/06/2016

MC JC DC. From Maol Bhuidhe bothy after cycle in and traverse of Ben Dronaig. Climbed N ridge to An Creaachal Beag whilst DC took E ridge to same point. Descended to the W to climb Faochaig. Ascended Faochaig via very good stalker's path. Great views to Skye, Knoydart etc even Quinag in the N. descended back to Meall Bhuidh bothy. Terrible midges swarming at door and window. Very heavy rain overnight. River Ling expanded to around 3x size overnight. Just fordable. Exited around the end of B. Dronaig back to Bendronaig Lodge. Thought about An Cruachan but decided to leave for another day.Martin6630/07/2006
Day 2 of a weekend trip based at Maol-bhuidhe bothy with Martin66 & JC. A very warm & humid day. My brother did his usual diretissima caper straight up on to An Creachal Beag while I took the easier & very scenic NE spur. We all then continued to the summit of Aonach Buidhe. Descended the broad W flank to the col with Faochaig. Quick ascent via the good stalkers path on to the plateau & over to the summit. Back to the col & down the path to the midgey bothy. I decided to take a cooling dip in the burn & came out covered in midges much to the others amusement! Back to Achintee as per Martin66 report on Day 3.NotReallyABagger30/07/2006

Long walk from Killilan to Iron Lodge along road gave sore feet before grassy ridge rose steadily to summit and cairn. Continued to Faochaig before the walk back (and a rarity in Brasher's - a blister).Aye Jimmy29/05/2006
Parked in new car park at end of road from Killilan. On bike to Carnach and to Iron Lodge and hack up on deer grass for 600'. Up into mist. Very hot. 2 more GPS checks to veer left on less horrible terrain to top at 13.20. No view - mist. to Faochaigarranc09/08/2005

From Maol Buidhe bothy to Killilan. What a good mountain this is. Going over An Creachal Beag gave good ridge walking but we could see there were other fine ridges, too. We took the SSW ridge down, from its foot a valley walk- worth doing but the last 4km on tarmac was hard after the wilderness. With Petepwheeler24/05/2001

Solo. From Killilan. Walked up path close to Allt a’ Choire Mhòir and then up hillside to summit of Sgùman Còinntich then followed ridge to Sròn na Gaoithe and on to the summit of Faochaig. Went NE and then found a path which was followed roughly eastwards. There followed a stiff pull-up to the summit of Aonach Buidhe. Descended the SSW ridge to Iron Lodge. Met up with a friend and took turns with a cycle down to Killilan. Quite a long day. Weather good.pwbellarby07/05/1994
