Left track at approx 542337 to go through short section of wood then direct to hillduchally27/08/2023

Parked at end of public road to Achtuie then over fields and pleasant pine forest to Creag Nay, then over heather to Cnoc Fhearchair, Meall na h-Eilrig and Cnoc Snataig. The descent path to the W of Loch Glanaidh is very overgrown but better than nothing.sclater16/06/2022
Wandered up the track from Wester Achtuie to Loch Glanaidh. It peters out from this point, but we followed it to its highest point before scuttling up to the summit of Meall na h-Eilrig across heather, sedge, sphagnum and rush. Similar ground to Cnoc Fhearchair and then back to the track home.summitter29/08/2021
From Wester Achtuie. Well defined track initially, then, not too far past loch, it deteriorated & disappeared in places. Super summit views.ger12/07/2021
Parked at Abriachan forest walk car park to north, followed Great Glen Way then cut through the forest to open hillside and made up a minor ridge to summit. Vegetation knee deep but not too boggy today - quite an enjoyable hill with nice views. Solo.assynt_bob11/06/2021
1 of 3: Parked at Wester Achtuie. A large white bull at the start of the track watched us intently despite the roar of the RAF jets below us. We stayed close to the fence on our left for a while. With Karen.ChrisR26/02/2021

Wester Achtuie, good parking, track to just beyond loch, gate through electric fence and up through edge of trees. Hot, many insects.iangalbraith09/08/2020
Parked in Abriachan Forest CP. Then used Great Glen Way until just past high point, forest just 15m wide at this point. Fence is down here so access to open hillside easy. Then plod to BWF just the right height for me to get over I am 6 ft. From there one more plod to trig. Great views but one too many flies for my liking. Back same way but went over Carn Na Leitire on good signed paths.garyhoney23/07/2020
Here for the trig point. TP:UK log: I'd already attempted this hill once from the GGW and turned back due to waist high snow. Today having been put off by the logs on hill bagging from the GGW route I decided to try the alternative route from Wester Achtuie which I have to say was relatively easy. Plenty of parking at Wester Achtuie and a great track to within 500m of the trigpoint. You then have to hoof up some steep heather but it's manageable and you are rewarded with some excellent views.thejackrustles03/01/2020

Evening walk from Abriachan forest trails car park. Forest track to just over high point and 50 short forest exit to heather moorland. Boggy at first but drier further up.N.Morters14/03/2019
Glad I did this during a long spell of dry weather! Pick a clear dry day and after the heather tramp, the views will make it worthwhile. (Absolutely avoid if it’s been wet for a while!) Parked about 300m down from the forest track leading in. Up and down in just under an hour and a half.elizyanne04/06/2018
Parked by the barn below Achpopuli Farm, probably best not to do so on weekdays because of forestry work. Walked to Achpopuli, then left past the barn up a vague grassy path. Hopped a BWF into the forest and slanted upwards towards the hill. Found a very low fence and followed it until I became bored of squelching through bogs, stepped over and headed up the hill on decent deer tracks at first. So far, so good, but once in the young trees, it gets unpleasant. The hill is covered in monstrous spongy vegetables, making for tiresome progress. The failed tree planting holes are visible on the way up but not on the way down. Ouch. A nasty Marilyn, and not worth bagging unless you're intent on bagging them all.Gill08/04/2018
From Achpopuli. Glad the ground was semi frozen as it was really boggy.Peterb12/01/2018

From North. Soft springy terrain on hill, no problems.NormanW14/04/2017
From 538349 to 542337 where the forest is thin to the open moor. Not too bad underfoot as it had been dry. Just over 90 minutes up and down. Solo.bolton16/02/2017

With Jenx, from the lane end near Achpopuli, near a quarry of sorts and shed. Track through woods, cut through trees at thinest point. Then a slog over rough tussocky ground. Watch for hidden holes near the thin tree plantings over the wire fence. Some are hidden and deep. Not a great hill, good to get back to road.nordicstar04/02/2016
Same route as Martin Hall. All ok,though pretty rough once off the forest track. Cloud at the top today.jenx04/02/2016
Parked at NH 538 349 since a sign requested cars to go no further. Walked up the track, taking the left fork at the buildings, to 542 337, then easily south through the wood and took a direct line to the summit over rough ground.martin_hall19/10/2015
Drove up the minor road as far as you can go. There are some spaces for parking. Walk along the track but turn left before the house. Easy walk to foot of Hull but quite long Heather. Great views from tip to long nesstallblond14/06/2015
During a week in a holiday cottage at Balchraggan above Loch Ness with J. Walked out of the front door & followed the track through the woods past Corryfoyness to the junction of the tracks at 549331. Fairly rough wander over gently rising ground to the summit. This was a quick leg stretcher on the day of our arrival, but otherwise not sure I would have bothered. Not much to recommend it.NotReallyABagger10/05/2015

Ascended from forestry car park at Achpopuli. Tough going through deep heather. Was bagging the trig but happily took the Marilyn.BigJ04/08/2014

From Wester Achtuie, no parking problems. 4x4 track is OK as far as Loch Glanaidh but then worsens and eventually disappears. The final push to the summit hard going on soft ground.Topographer5718/07/2014

From carpark to the NAndrewFinnimore27/09/2013
Climbed from tourist information car park in Drumnadrochit. Steep lane on ascent and nice easy track up top takes you to base of peak. followed contour round the back (eastern slope much kinder) before final march through heather to the summit. Back down the same way, 5 mile round trip overall.Columba28/06/2013
Climbed from Drumnadrochit via Wester Achtuie. The path shown on the Landranger is in fact a track and I used this to it's highpoint. The final slopes were pathless heather.Chris Peart07/05/2012

Walked in from Drumnadrochit via Loch Glanaidh as there was too much snow and ice on the roads to drive anywhere. After battling through two foot of snow got to the trig point with Andy and Jill.mindlessflogger27/12/2010

Trig point and small cairn at summit. Summit dome covered in heather, with a young conifer plantation.Buteobuteo01/04/2008
Revisit. Decent summit, fine view. The weird profile of the Graham, Meall Fuar-mhonaidh to SSW draws the gaze. Good track from SW, then E from gate, keeping a bit R for better terrain.RHW28/09/2007

Parked in forest play area. Easy direct approach through forest to Achpopuli then farm track by sheep meadows and up on heather, dry swamp grass runnels through young plantings to top at 12.50. Loch Ness in 3 sections.arranc28/06/2006
