Ascent from Hartsop on round of Hayeswater bagging Brock Crags - Buck Crag - Satura Crag - Rest Dodd - The Nab - Rest Dodd - High Street - Thonthwaite Crag (Beacon and Summit 45m to north) - North of Thornthwaite Crag - Gray Crag - Hartsop. Started at the car park near brothers water, hart sop, next to low wood. Walked up to the knot and across high street to racecourse hill and then across to thorn thwarts beacon. Then made it down the valley and scrambled up to stoney cove pike. Walked down caudale moor onto the main road and back to brothers water. 0900 - 1630 hrs Extremely cold and windy Lots on snow underfoot not enough for crampons. Occasional ice. Classic Kentmere round from Kentmere Church via Garburn Pass, Yoke, Ill Bell, Froswick, Thornthwaite Crag, High Street, Mardale Ill Bell, Harter Fell, Kentmere Pike and Shipman Knotts. Time 6 1/2 hours. Walked with dog. Weather fine and sunny for first half of walk. Mist came down whilst on Harter Fell around 1.45pm. Remained dry though. A wonderful walk ... mostly grassy ridges though boggy in places and rocky on Ill Bell and Froswick.jamessteel10025/10/2016

Conquered the Kentmere horseshoe Yoke, Ill Bell, Frostwick and Thornthwaite crag were fantastic. Grey crag was a bit dower. Then the clouds dropped and the the views disappeared. Walk to Mardale I'll Bell was interesting Then we back traced down the Nan Beld Pass and back down to Kentmere 15 miles and our longest walk to date.Tobo196920/08/2016
