Ascent from Hogarth Cottages, Troutbeck with Jayne while on holiday over Sour Howes to Sallows with return by Garburn Road. 8.08 miles in total of 5hrs:27mins (Moving Time 3hrs:03 mins) with 533m of ascent.pwhitaker_196624/06/2018
From High Borrans. Used the slither of access land, but did require careful climbing over a wall and a fence. Recommend the route wainwright suggests, especially on a wet claggy day, as the ferns saturated me!MrChris198002/06/2018
Parked at the start of Dubbs Lane, then along this until gate allows easy access to hill. Return to Lane the onward to Sour Howes and Capple Howe on another warm sunny day in May.Dugswell229/05/2018

From Kentmere church, up and down Garburn Pass.Fell_wanderer06/11/2017
From Sallows we headed down and around to Sour Howes. After climbing over the wall we found ourselves in the middle of lots of summits non with a cairn or trig on them. In the heavy clouds it was near impossible to tell which was the highest. I walked around with the GPS using the altimeter to determine the true summit only to go back to the one Bec was on as that was showing 481meters. Caught the odd view of windermere but pretty poor. After this made our way to Pooley Bridge inn and had a big meal before camping next to Hallin fell with the intention of another 5 far eastern. Woke up with a bad hip and Bec not well so headed home for a day of films.Scotty 2 Hotty23/09/2017

A fairly quick and easy hike, no features on main summit, path goes over it, we also went up the more pointed secondary summit opposite. Good views of Windermere, the Fells to the west and north (especially the Langdale Pikes) along with the Troutbeck Tongue and surrounding Fells.Chris Mac24/06/2017
